The longest distance ever, they say, is the distance between the mind and the heart.Kim (a tiger) and Kimora (a gazelle) are head over heels in love with each other. They got entangled during one of Kim's family's hunting expeditions. Kim lost his way and innocently entered Gazelle's territory. Then he saw her, it was love at first sight. Her smile was all he needed to brighten his day. She guided him stealthily out of the territory and since, they have been having a clandestine love affair.
Kim knows their relationship is a pitfall and would surely lead to massive bloodshed. His mind sings nothing else but to let this feeling go, because the treaty between the two territories; to stay out of each other's dealings, else war and carnage, will be broken. But his heart can't let go, her love is everything to him. He can't live without her love, he would rather die than live without her.
Tom and tomi are two worlds apart. For tomi, falling in love with him was in fact the most amazing thing that has and yet, happening in her life. She can't let the "hoodlum" of a guy out of her life.
"He is pure evil. Your doomsdays. Your destruction. Can't you see it?" friends lamented severally.
Of course, she can. In fact her mind has pondered countless times over how her godfearing, lovely and amazing parents would feel and act about it. They would be disappointed or worse; disown her— she can't afford to let that happen. But her heart can't bear the pain of not having to feel his amazing presence in her life.
Sunny and Sammy are very good friends. Everyone knows how intimate their friendship is, including their parents. Sunny caught Sammy smoking joint, he made him promise not to tell anyone. But Sunny was worried his friend might end up like the joint addicts he sees on TV if he doesn't desist. When sunny kept this for a while hoping he would stop, but didn't, he ratted on him. He informed Sammy's dad. His parents were disappointed and infuriated. His parent made him go through rehabilitation and he was forgiven. But with Sunny, even though his mind understands that it was the best thing a good friend would do and that he did it for the love he has for him, his heart couldn't forgive him. He wants no "betrayer" for a friend; a snitch!Such is the conflict between the mind and the heart. The mind is always logical, rational, agreeable to reason, candid but cold and emotionless while the heart is most times unreasonable, incoherent, eccentric but warm and passionate. There seem to be a very wide gap between the two. Most times, it seems almost impossible to bridge; to get the two to come to terms with a particular dealing. Both are needed in every dealing. Depending on the circumstance, one might be needed more than the other. A dealing or decision with the mind alone sounds or looks ruthless, insensitive, abrupt and full of apathy. On the other hand, a dealing or decision with the heart alone sounds or looks stupid, baseless, irrational and full of empathy and sympathy. But a dealing or decision made with just the right amount of both, is ideal.
