A//n: Please don't ask me how they could afford all those clothes, I don't know either lol

Warnings: Fluff, fluff, teenage boys discovering lingerie, awkwardness, and some more fluff. Will being the perfect fictional boyfriend. [Cough cough i may have subconsciously borrowed from the iconic fictional couple April & April from parks and rec]

oOoPS *i trip, accidentally spilling more y/n flirting with El and Max all over the chapter* ...ohhh nOoO!

Seriously though, writing the lingerie scene was SO WEIRD PFSKTBDFF

Chapter Question❓: If you had to choose between Elmax and Mileven, what would you choose? [Elmax for me 🙋‍♀️ *sniff* she taught her how to find herself and her own interests]

El had never seen so many clothes in all her life. Or so many colors.

How could she possibly choose?

Her hands touched every piece of fabric they could find. It seemed, every time she found something that caught her eye, something else pulled her throughout the store. She finally found herself before a tall, glass table that nearly came to her shoulders. Sitting on top of it, towering over El and her friends sat another one of those... things. 'Man-a' somethings? El couldn't remember the word but they creeped her out a little.

This plastic woman wore a bright blue shirt with lots of paint streaks on it. It was so unlike anything she was used to, just like most of the clothes here.

"Do you like that one?" Max asked from beside Y/n.

El looked between them, feeling a little silly.

"How do I know... what I like?"

Max shrugged. "You just try things on. Until you find something that feels like you."

A shocked look flashed across her face, making Y/n's heart break a little. "Like me?"

"Yeah," Max smiled kindly at her. She gave her an encouraging nod. "Not Hopper. Not Mike. You."

"And only you can determine what that is," Y/n smiled. "Not even we can do that,"

El could feel the ends of her lips hook into the brightest smile she had worn a long while as their words fully sink in. She looked back up at the stand with a blooming sense of hope and what it stood for, knowing she was ready.

El was ready, for the first time, to discover what it truly meant to be herself.

The sun beats heavily down on Hawkins and its residents from its highest point in the sky. The harsh rays of the sun were most forgiving to those who now occupied the Hawkins Pool.

Well, forgiving to most who resided there.

It was hot and sticky, and the air reeked of chlorine and summer fun. Refuge from the heat was easy to come by here, whether it be in the cool waters of the crowded pool, or under one of many beach umbrellas where many like Karen Wheeler and her friends lounged on beach chairs.
