It was a chilly morning in early November. You pressed your hands to your reddened cheeks, attempting to warm them up with what was left of your body heat as you strolled across a pathway sculpted by colorful trees from every angle. Green leaves bid their goodbyes as the wind provided transportation to their next destination. Along the comparatively small amount of green hanging onto their last moments were multiple shades of auburn, generously sprinkled around to provide the classic gradient of autumn.

Your mind couldn't help but wander to the roughly similar setting outside the classroom window when you first met Jimin, but with March cherry blossoms. It's been more than one year since you've last seen him, one year since that promise he ever so passionately and truthfully announced.

One year since he simply vanished.

You were now commencing junior year of college; as you hoped Jimin healthily was as well. Countless attempts of texts, calls, and visits were made, but to no avail. It was as if he disappeared off the face of the earth, which you so desperately hoped was not the case. You merely lived through the end of freshman year and the entirety of sophomore year by praying he was living a healthy and happy life elsewhere.

Bells harmonized as a result of you walking into the quite convenient café near your school. Overwhelmed by the sugary scent of crushed up coffee beans, you made your way over to the cashier and ordered your usual latte with a pump of hazelnut syrup. Warmth engulfed your chilled palms as your fingers gently wrapped around the cup. Grateful, you paid for your drink and walked back out of the café, the now fully visible sun signaling the start of a new day.

"Now for review material, please open up your textbooks to pages..."

You couldn't help but zone out as you gazed into Jimin's empty desk. Quite frankly, shutting out anything and everything that excluded the sight of that desk has become somewhat of a daily routine for you; well, for whenever you had that particular class anyway. You were so lost in your own thoughts—which candidly centered around you reminiscing in your short-lived friendship with Jimin—that you didn't notice Lia nearly poking a hole into your back with her index finger.

Your brows met at the interruption as you subtly turned towards her desk right behind you, resulting in her handing you a small folded note. You returned to your normal posture and decided to quickly skim over it.

"Mirey said Jinyoung keeps asking her about you."

Your lips tightened into a thin line as you subconsciously and very slightly rolled your eyes, dismissing the note by placing it in some random page in your textbook. It was at this time that you were searching for anything remotely more interesting, and decided to focus back on the lecture.

"Why are you ignoring the fact that Jinyoung probably has this fat crush on you?" Mirey asked, her tone filled with pure frustration, "The dude isn't even being low key about it."

"Key word: probably," You emphasized, "and even if he does, I don't like him like that."

Lia idly took a quick sip of her leftover coffee, "Yeah you never like anyone like that."

You sigh in response, hoping they'd already drop the useless discussion, "I don't know, I find him too clingy anyway."

"But you'll grow up old and alone without getting to suck any dick!"

"Say it louder Mirey." Lia sarcastically says, rolling her eyes as your cheeks heat up.

"Okay I've heard enough, I gotta get to bio." You announce, facepalming at your two best friends on crack before scuttling to your next destination.

Mentally cursing the fact that you have to walk across parallel sides of the school to get to your biology lab in this overly chilly November weather, you quicken your steps as you realize the bell signaling the start of class will shortly ring.

Numerous students in your sight seemed to be in a similar situation, exhaling condensation smoke due to their cold surroundings as they walked in swift steps. As the goody two shoes you are, you began worrying more than needed about being late. So naturally, you began jogging. And even more naturally—

*Bump*

You fell on your butt from the impact of the sudden collision, rubbing it a bit to ease the pain, and groaning as you closed your eyes shut and furrowed your brows.

And that's when the god damn bell rang.

Great. Just great.

"Oof sorry that was my bad." You heard a guy say—whom you assume to be the guy you bumped into. You felt him stand up and offer you his hand to help.

"No no it's fine I wasn't looking where I was going." You nervously chuckled as you glanced at his hand and took hold of it. You then glanced up at his very good looking and somewhat familiar face, yet his expression somehow didn't complement it. He looked more surprised—his eyes wide open and his full lips slightly parted.

"Y/n?" He asked as he pulled you up on your feet.

"Yes that's me. How'd you know?" You asked quizzically, wondering how this new kid whom you haven't seen around the university knew your name. Nothing prepared you for what he said next.

"It's me, Jimin."

You lost your shit.
