My Baby Brother

WARNING: Will be emotional, have child abusement, swearing and blood.

Gene had the locket around his neck and held the flower in his hands. Tears rolled down his face. He knew his sister, Kei had been there, even though she was dead. Alex rubbed Gene's back. "She was here...She came back...My sister came." Gene said. Alex raised an eyebrow. He knew about Kei because Gene told him about her. "Gene...She's dead...How can she possibly make her way in here? And not to be rude, but that just looks like a normal moonflower you see sometimes, and the locket is probably old. " Alex said. Gene looked at him. "This is Kei's flower. These are her and my favorite flowers. This locket...my dad took it and tried to smash it, but Kei's magic stopped it from getting smashed or destroyed." Gene said. Alex sighed and shook his head. "Tell me more about Kei," Alex said. Gene sighed. "Kei was my older sister, she was 18 when she died. When we were younger she and I were always close."

Flashback

6 yr old Kei was listening to music and 4 yr old Gene was drawing. When he was done, he tapped on Kei's shoulder. She saw the picture and smiled. It was him, her, mom and dad all holding hands. She picked Gene up and tickled him. "STOP!! HAHAHAHAHA!! I HATE BEING TICKLED!!!" Gene said. Kei stopped and held her baby brother. "You know, I'll always protect you. No matter what happens." Kei said, nuzzling her head against his. "Pwomise?" Gene said. "Promise." Kei said.

Flashback end

"She promised to protect me. I...was so young to know something happened that very day."

Flashback

Gene was now 12 yrs old and Kei was 14. One day, Gene was reading the novel 'The Night Parade'. Kei was upstairs. "Man, Saki needs to learn not to let her curiosity take over." Gene said, turning the page.

When his father came in. Gene saw him, smiled and waved. "Hey, dad." He said. His father grabbed him by his throat. Gene gagged and dropped his book. Then he threw Gene on the floor. Kei opened her door and saw what was happening. He took off his belt. Gene's eyes widened. "D-Dad! Why are you doing this?! Did I do something wrong?!" Gene asked, tears filling his eyes. "Yes...coming in my life you piece of shit!" His father yelled, raised the belt and brought it down on Gene. Gene screamed and cried. Kei's eyes widened. She pushed him away from Gene. He looked to see Kei, growling, eyes black and blood red. She picked up Gene. Gene cried in her shirt. "KEI!!!" He cried. Kei rubbed his back. "I'll never forgive you for this." She said and took Gene upstairs to her room. She locked the door and set Gene on the bed. She pulled out her phone and called mom. "Kei?" "Mom. Dad hit Gene." "What?" "He beat Gene with his belt." "Did he do something wrong?" "No. He just randomly just started to beat him, and said coming in my life you piece of shit" "Let me talk to Gene." Kei gave Gene her phone. "M-Mom?" "Honey, are you okay?" "I'm scared mom!" "I know sweetie. I'm on my way home now." She hung up, Gene gave Kei her phone back. Gene was crying and rubbing his eyes. Kei used her magic and calmed him down. He fell asleep in her hold.

Gene was crying. "After that, he began to abuse me 24/7." Gene said. Alex rubbed Gene's back. He continued to tell the story. Gene even said, his father put him in chains and whipped him until blood was going down his body.

Flashback

The only thing that could be heard in the house was whip sounds and screaming. Gene was in chains and blood was on the floor. Scars were all over Gene's body. His father then shoved the handle of the whip, inside of Gene. Gene screamed and squirmed. Tears ran down his face. He cried for Kei. His father yanked the handle out. Blood came from inside of Gene. Gene begged him to stop and saying he was sorry, repeatedly, but it didn't work. Then something knocked him out. Gene saw Kei and his mom standing there. Kei freed Gene from the chains and his mom took him upstairs. Kei ran a bath for him and his mother set him in carefully. Gene winced and cried. Kei cleaned his wounds. The bathwater was red. His mother was cursing his father out and they were screaming and yelling. Kei covered his ears so he couldn't hear it. Gene soon fell asleep in her hold.

Flashback

Gene couldn't talk anymore. He burst out in tears. Alex pulled him into a hug. "My little baby bro...I'm so sorry." A voice said. Alex pulled out his sword and Gene got behind him. "Who's there?!" Alex said. Then they both saw a ghost 18 yr old girl come in view. 

Gene's eyes widened. "K-Kei?! Is that you?" He asked. "Yes. It's me." She said. Gene ran to her and hugged her tightly. "My little baby bro...I'm so glad to see you again." Kei said. "You must be Alex? Gene's boyfriend." Kei asked. Alex nodded and put his sword away. Kei had talked to Alex and Gene for some hours. "That locket will give you the power to contact me whenever you want to, and the flower will always glow when I'm close by." Kei said. She began to fade away. "I need to go." She said. "I promise...I'll return." Kei said. "NO!! ALEX MAKE HER STAY!!! KEI!! KEI!!" Gene cried as Alex held him. "AAAAAAAAAAH!! KEI PLEASE!!!! AAAAAH!! KEI!!!!!!!" He yelled as Kei went away. Gene was screaming and crying. "My little baby. Please calm down." Alex said. He picked Gene up and Gene cried on his shoulder. He kissed his cheek and rubbed his back. A few minutes later, Gene fell asleep. Alex sighed and took him upstairs. He laid him down and covered him up. Alex laid down next to him and fell asleep. 'I promise Kei, I'll protect him.' He thought.
