Chapter 1

NARUTO'S POV

"Die demon!"

"This is for my wife!"

"Murderer!"

"Demon!"

"Just die!"

I sat at the roof as I watched the angry mob of civilians and jounins as they continued to stab, slash, whip and beat the air on the ground. I shook my head and chuckled in amusement. Watching them try to kill the nothing furiously is funny. They look stupid but entertaining. I wonder why they still haven't realized that they're under a genjutsu? I can understand that the civilians cannot determine that they're under a genjutsu as they weren't trained. But the jounins? Seriously? It's even a C-rank genjutsu! How come they haven't notice anything? One of them is even a sensor...

They won't notice it, gaki. Afterall, they are too stupid and are blinded by hatred to notice tiny details.

I mentally nodded at the one thousand year old fox that is sealed inside of me. The first time I met him was on my second birthday, the time I received my first beating. I still remember that day as if it was yesterday.

*flashback*

It's my second birthday today. It's suppose to be a happy day for me. But for an unknown reason, a mob of angry adults chased me with different kinds of weapons in their hands. I ran as fast as I can. For some reason, I developed faster than the other kids. I matured earlier than them. And I learned faster than them. And so, I can already run.

However, no matter how fast I can run, I am nothing but a mere child. A two year old toddler. And so, in no time, the mob reached me. They tied my arms and legs to constrict my movement, they even placed a gag on my mouth and covered my eyes with a blindfold. I felt my heart beat fast and a dreaded feeling called fear filled my whole system. Not a second later, I felt incredible pain on my stomach. I don't know what they're doing, but all I know is that it's painful. Pain and fear. That's what I felt at that time. They started yelling things I don't understand.

"KILL THE DEMON!"

'What does kill mean? What's a demon?'

"AVENGE OUR FAMILIES!"

'What's does avenge means? What's a family?'

"FINISH WHAT THE FOURTH STARTED!"

'What has the Fourth started? And who is he?'

I soon forgot all those questions as I felt more pain. I could feel my body on fire. I tried to scream and yell for help. Keyword: Tried. I couldn't as a gag was placed in my mouth, resulting in muffled screams. Soon enough, I blacked out.

When I opened my eyes once again, I found myself in a sewer. It doesn't smell like how I expected it too. It was silent as I continued to walk around searching for a way out. That is until I reached a large cage with a paper with weird symbols stuck in it. I heard a growl and two menacing red eyes stared at me.

"So, my jailor finally came to visit me," he said. I can tell the person (or animal) is a he by the sound of his voice. It was dark and deep. He gave me what I think is a smile showing his sharp teeth. I frowned.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Who me? I'm just the kyuubi no yoko," he grinned.

"The what?" I frowned.

"The kyuubi no yoko. Don't tell me you don't know?" Duh? Would I ask if I knew?

"Nevermind, that explains why," he muttered.

"Explains what?"

"If a human sees me, they'd freak out, tremble in fear and even faint. But you, you don't even show signs of fear. Only shock and confusement," he explained. Does that mean he's someone great that everyone fears him? My eyes sparkled as a inspiration sparked within me as I looked at the mysterious being.

"Are you strong?" I asked. He looked at me shocked but then it turned into amusement as he laughed.

"Of course I am strong! How can I be feared by puny humans if I'm not strong?" He exclaimed. I looked at him in awe and in amazement.

"T-then... can you train me to be strong?" I asked nervously but was filled with determination.

"Hm... sure why not," he mused. I jumped and squealed in happiness and excitement.

"Thank you... um... what's your name?" I asked. He raised a brow. I'm assuming he's asking me why I'm asking for his name. "Ah... eh... I just felt like kyuubi no yoko isn't a name... it seems more like a tittle..." I nervously said as I looked down. "A-and, I-I wanna be friends with you..."

I suddenly felt something soft wrap itself around me. I looked at it only to see a reddish orange tail. It carried me and I looked at the being inside the cage. His eyes no longer menacing but filled with kindness and warmth. Now that I can take a closer look. He's actually a giant orange fox with nine tails!

He then gave me a closed-eye foxy smile. "Nice to meet you kit. I'm Kurama, the kyuubi no yoko. And yes, I would like to be your friend."

*flashback ends*

Gaki, you better go home. Watching those foolish humans beat the air is tiring to watch. And beside, you need sleep for tomorrow. Afterall, you'll get to know who your teammates would be.

'Hai~ Kaa-chan~' I giggled as I heard Kura growl.

Don't call me that! He growled. I shook my head in amusement. Seriously? Kura is like a father AND a mother. Ever since our encounter, he had become overprotective of me. Whenever I received my beatings, and the seal can't let him do what he wants, he just pulls me into my mindscape and comfort me there as he slowly heals my body. But now...
A body made out of pure chakra materialized beside me. It was in the shape of a human body, about 6 feet tall. The body has short silky red hair, creamy white skin, and is wearing a red kimono with black flames embroidered on the edges and sleeves and a nine-tailed fox embroidered at the back. The eyes opened to reveal red eyes with dilated pupils like a cat. He grinned showing his pointy cat like teeth. You guessed who this is. It is none other than Kurama, the kyuubi no yoko, who stood up as my parent and friend during my dark times.

3 years ago, after I finished my hellish training with Kura, I was able to change my mindscape from a sewer to a grassy field with trees planted around the field with a small pond on the side. The cage disappeared. Instead, Kura got the seal marked on his chest. He's now able to turn into a human form and revert back to his original form. He can also materialize a body made out of chakra for him to use.

"Come on, kit! Let's go get dango and sake!" He said in excitement as he dragged me around.

Uh... didn't he say I should go home and rest? Why have dango and sake now? It's almost 10 in the evening!

"Kit, ever heard of priority comes first?" I rolled my eyes. I totally forgot Kura can read/ hear my thoughts.

"And your priority is dango and chicken?" I guessed. He just gave me a toothy grin. I rolled my eyes once again. Well, at least I can eat dango. But I also want ramen.
