Baby Shower!

I was currently sitting in the doctors office with Ashley. She had an appointment today and they were going to tell us the gender. I knew I promise Kai I was going to be at the shower but this was also important and I'm sure she would understand.

"Okay Ms .Ashley and Mr. White it's looks like you guys are having a .......girl" The doctor said as she moved the monitor around Ashley's stomach.

"Yayyyyyy!!" Ashley squealed as she smiled at me with a tear falling down her face.

"Don't cry didn't you say you wanted a girl" She nodded at me as I wiped the tear from her face.

"Well I'm going to print out the pictures and give you guys a minute then you can go up front and schedule your next appointment" The doctor said before walking out of the room and closing the door.

"Baby we're having a girl!" Ashley said in excitement as she hopped of the table pulling down her shirt.

"I know babe I'm happy even though I wanted a boy" I told her and she frowned before wrapping her arms around me pecking me on the lips.

"Well let me make it up to you lets go get something to eat my treat" Ashley suggested but I really didn't wanted to be mean and say no but I had to get going to the baby shower, I know Kai is going to have my head on a chopping block.

"Ight let's go to the waffle house" She nodded before grabbing her purse and we made our way to the front desk to schedule her next appointment then we left out of the clinic.

We hopped into my car then started making our way to the waffle house until I felt my phone vibrate I thought nothing of it.

"Baby take my phone out the cup holder and read me the message please" She grabbed it out the cupholder before tapping in my password.

"Its Maleek he asked are you still coming to the baby shower?......wait who's having a baby shower" She asked as she raise her eyebrow at me.

"Its Kai's baby shower and tell him I'll be there a little later" She looked at me with a confused look for a minute before typing.

"When did you and Kai become so close" She asked after she threw my phone back into the cup holder I just mentally rolled my eyes.

"We talked like grown adults and let all the hatred we had against each other go" I answered plain and simple not to snitch myself out or anything.

"When was this because I've been with you most of the time" I just sucked my teeth before answering her.

"We go to the same college damn Ashley just let it go" I snapped and she just folded her arms and turned the music up.

After a while we finally pulled up to The Waffle House and we hopped out and went inside to be seated.

Me and Ashley placed in our orders and less than 20 minutes our food was served and we just sat and ate our food.

"Baby I wanna go to the mall" Ashley whined and I just mentally rolled my eyes I was honestly getting fed up with her maybe it was because she was pregnant but she was getting annoying.

"Ashley I have somewhere to be" She just eyed me then started jumping to all kinds of conclusions.

"So is Kai more important than me Clarence?" She asked in a high pitch voice.

"I mean.....not really" I lied through my lips.

"That's what I thought now lets go" She paid for the food and we headed to the mall. I definitely fuck up.
