The Wedding

3 Days Before the Wedding (Ben's POV)

I woke up to the sound of Mal singing today. I'm so proud of her. For one she has saved Auradon three times now and she chose to let the barrier down. I'm so happy she'll soon be my Queen. This all feels so unreal to me. I walked over to my calendar. Argh. Today I have a meeting. That means I can't hang out with my friends today. I quickly get dressed and head out. When I'm on my way to the conference room I bump into Mal. "Hey!" I say. She looks at me and says, "Ugh go away." I see her expression turn from disgusted to regretful. Mal jumps into my arms and begins to cry. I kiss her on the head and say, "It's okay. I understand." But in my head I 100% did not understand. She then said, "Sorry. I need to go somewhere." And within a second she was gone. "By-" Oh no! I was gonna be late for the meeting if I didn't move there and then. I decided to put the Mal issues to the side of my head. She was just stressed. Right?
IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM
The conference started with Dad. He said, "Do we really think it was the right idea to open the barrier for good?" I kept quiet. Lumiere the chirped in, "Why don't we ask King Ben as it was his Lady's decision?" I gulped. This is where I would cave. "Shouldn't Mal be at this decision?" Everyone looked at me. "Dad?" They all stared. Dad finally broke the silence and said, "He's right. I request someone to go and collect Lady Mal. Lumiere?"  Lumiere rose from the table and was just about to head out of the door until I stopped him. "It might be better to reschedule than bother Mal. She seemed to be in a rush this morning." "Of course Sir." Lumiere said as he sat back down at the table. "If you don't mind. I would like to call this meeting finished." I said. I rose from my seat and left the room. Phew. That was finally over.
