Three years later...
I got Ben to bring Stella and Isa to my birthday party.
It was the only way to see my baby.
And she looked so damn hot, she was wearing the skinny blood red jeans, I got her for her birthday four years ago, a white police t-shirt, that clung to her body and showed those curves that drove me crazy whenever I ran my hands down her sides, and white Reebok running shoes with red laces that am 99% sure didn't come with them.
She didn't go crazy when she couldn't find something in particular in the stores she improvised.
She looked simple and hot.
Her only accessories where her little white swatch watch, a gold chain with a teddy bear locket and the silver bracelet with our initials that I gave her on our third date.
That was just another thing I loved about her.
She took things seriously, even if she was over me, which I hoped not, she would not discard my gifts because she knew they where from my heart.
Corny I know.
I rushed to her as soon as they walked in and led her away, she followed me to the kitchen, I was excited because she had been avoiding me.
"Isa, you look incredible"
"Thanks, Greg"
I leaned in to kiss her but she stopped me with a palm on my chest, my cheeks burned but I let it slide.
"What have you been up to?, I miss you"
"Nothing much, what about you?"
She knowingly avoided the "I miss you" part, she's been doing that four three years now, but I wouldn't give up and with the plan I've thought up she won't have a choice but to play along.
"We need to pick up where we left off babe, Isa you know I've never stopped thinking about you, before you say anything about loving someone else I want you to remember you always tell me "a bird in hand is worth a thousand in the bush" you said that meant me being here as your beau is better than this guy you dream about and you haven't met in person".
I said that to trigger her emotions and it worked.
"I have never said anything about him to you"
She spat,literally.
"True but that's what the proverb is about, no?"
"The meaning, yes , but I have never mentioned anyone to you, who told you I even have a dream guy, who is real by the way?"
"I have my sources, but let's not go into that, let's drink and at least try to be friends, please?"
"one on condition"
"Anything for you babe"
"That you stop calling me "babe" and you realize we can only just be friends from now on"
"That's two conditions, you said one"
I smirk at her.
"OK, two conditions then"
"Well, what choice do I have?, OK I accept"
"OK, then let's go have that drink"
"Ladies first"
"So now you are a gentle man?"
She smiles and I realize that three years since I left this town to get a job I missed her.
I might move back since I have people working for me I don't really need to be there.
Ten hours later
"Greg! OhMyGod, what happened last night?"
"You begged me to remind you how we used to be, so I did, what's wrong?"
I lied, so?, I swore I'll get her back at all cost.
She's the reason I changed my lifestyle and agreed to take over my dads construction company and even if I have to put her through surgery she will carry my baby and eventually become my wife!
Or I'll die trying!
"That's not true! is it? don't lie to me Greg, I beg you"
"Isa I will never lie to you"
"Why are you calling me Isa?"
"Last night you said the one of the conditions for us to be friends is for me to stop calling you babe"
"I know but I wanted to see if you were lying to me about what happened....did I really beg you to..you know?"
I knew she was testing me, she is so predictable!
"Yes you did, you were so insistent with your pleas and kisses that I just couldn't turn you down even at the risk that you would hate me"
"OK, OK, but did you?"
"I wasn't expecting to get laid, so no, I didn't have protection so I didn't use it"
She was shocked.
I very nearly bust out laughing but that would have ruined everything, so I held it in.
"Oh nooooo Greg you've killed me am ovulating, what if am....I have to go"
She got off the bed and headed for the bathroom, I got dressed after all I had her where I wanted, so the least I could do was make her sweet tea, extra creamy, the way she liked and give her a ride home.
"Is that for me?"
"Yea, to calm your nerves, do you want anything with it?"
"No, that's ok thanks"
I dropped her off at home and called Ben.
"Hey man, how good was your night?"
"Am a gentleman, Ben , I don't discuss my bedroom affairs but when Stella runs to you for advice about her cousins pregnancy, you tell her to keep it at all costs, got it?"
"Ha so your night was great...OK man I got your back but one q, how will she take care of the baby"
"Don't be dumb, Ben , I will take very good care of my baby and eventually my wife, bye"
"OK, great, later"
