Lightning does strike the same place twice.
Actually, skyscrapers get struck an average of 9 times a year.
So yes,
Bad things do happen to certain people more than others.
We attract all the wrong things,
Always in the wrong place at the wrong time,
Allowing all the wrong people
To look into our open windows.
But still we stand tall,
As if defying gravity.
Our bases rooted it the ground
And our arms reaching for the stars.
Radiant in the daylight,
The light of the night.
The pride of the city,
Whether we know it or not.
