Hunter awoke with a start. He was led across the ironing board cuddling the tea cosy. He wondered what the heck had gone on last night. The last thing he remembered was taking a bite of his beef pie and suddenly hitting the deck. He got up groggily and started to stumble around. He called out to his parents and received no reply. Then his eyes crossed two notes on the table. The one covered in blood and the other in dirt. He first read the one with the dirt on it. It read "If you are reading this then you have survived the first attempt. My time is short so I can only say this. Trust no one. F."
Hunter re-read the note and wondered what the mysterious writer was talking about. He then turned his eyes to the second, blood soaked note. He opened it and read. "Dear Wolfy, We are not who you think we are. We have waited till the perfect moment to initiate the hunt. Tomorrow is the first blood-moon in over a century. Our kind will feast for the next hundred years. We are not your parents. We are were-wolves. We have waited till you are of age to feast. We are the predators and you are our prey. Better start running..."
Hunter couldn't believe what he was reading. He had to get out of here. Fast.
"Are you Hunter?," said a voice from outside the window.
Hunter peered out and was confronted by the most beautiful girl he had ever met. Her perfect brunette hair bouncing off her shoulders. Her face could have made a hundred mirrors glisten. She wore a hoodie and running trousers with blue sparkly converse boots.
Hunter blurted out an answer "um...yes...and who are you?"
The girl pursed her lips and shook her head, "this isn't the time to tell you who I am."
Hunter was quite taken aback by this remark and suddenly came down from his imaginary world and back into the real one.
"Look, I'm you're guardian angel at the moment and you need to follow me. ok? That is all you need to know at the moment."
Hunter jumped out of the window and followed the mysterious girl onto the streets and stopped as she did on the pavement.
"I'm going to lay down a portal ok? She said, "Now before you jump into it you have to say your codename and destination."
"But I know neither," said Hunter perplexed.
"Just hold my hand and we will go to the same destination. I will do all the work."
He held her hand and promised not to blush.
"Foxglove and Hunter reporting to hideout 3-76," she said into the portal.
"Permission granted," said a voice from inside the portal and she jumped and pulled in Hunter along with her into the swirling vortex.
