Fred Weasley

George enchanted the snowball, sending it at Professor Stutter's turbin. He glanced around, confused to where the snowball came from.

I managed to keep in a giggle as another snowball hit the back of his head. Not our best pranks, but it was fun!

As snowflakes fell around us, we crawled out from behind the snowdrift. Quirrel turned the other direction as George and I dashed back up to the school.

Hogwarts wasn't any boarding school that muggles know of. Hogwarts is a school for witches and wizards. That also meant that we were bound to get caught as soon as we entered those doors, but it was worth it.

"Mr. Weasley! Mr. Weasley!" My twin and I froze a couple of steps from the staircase, turning to face Mcgonagall, our stern faced Head of House.

"Hello Professor," I said, smiling sweetly at her.

Her eyes narrow. "May I ask what you were doing outside of the castle in this weather? Or do I not want to know?"

"Well, the snow looked nice," George started.

"And it was a nice day," I continued.

"And Professor Quirrel was outside,"

"So we decided to throw snowballs at him."

Mcgonagall sighed and shook her head. "Boys, what have I told you about picking on teachers?"

"Not too," We both said.

"And what did you do?"

"Picked on a teacher," I said.

"Ten points from Gryffindor. Now, hurry along. Lunch is starting."

"Yes, Professor." With that, we turned away from the stairs towards the Great Hall.

This wasn't an unusual encounter. George and I were known for our pranks around the school. We even jokes about starting a joke shop in school once.

Entering the Great Hall, we joined the other Gryffindors at the long table. The hall was packed, each other the four house tables full for the last time before Christmas. We sat down next to Ron, our little brother, and his two other friends.

"Hey Harry," George said.

Ron glared at us, "Do I not get a hello since I'm your brother?

I turn to my twin, feigning confusion. "George, did you hear something?"

He shook his head, "I don't know what you are talking about Fred. Do we need to get your hearing checked."

I shrugged. "Maybe," I turn and face Harry. "You staying here for Christmas?"

He nods, the happy light in his eyes fading. "The Dursleys wouldn't want me home anyway."

I frown. "Oh well, you have us!"

George turns to Hermione, the third and newest member of Ron's trio. "Are you 'Mione?"

"No. My parents want me home."

"Too bad. You're going to miss all the fun," I state, pouting.

All three first years stare at me. "Fred," Ron starts, "What do you have planned?"

Both my twin and I smirk. "Oh nothing much. That doesn't matter. Guess what we just did?"

Before any of them could answer, a certain blonde Slytherin waltzed up to the Lion's table. "Not going home to family, Potter? Oh wait, you don't have a family!" Draco Malfoy laughed.

I glared at him. "He has a family here, Malfoy."

Malfoy turned to his little minions. "Crabbe, Goyal, did you hear that? Twin Weasel is standing up for him," he turns back to me. "One might think you have taken a liking to the Golden Boy."

George stays up next to me. "Why wouldn't we? Us Lion's are a giant family, unlike you snakes."

Malfoy gasps. "We are very much a family, thank you very much! Wait till my father hears about this!"

"Wait till my Father hears about this," both my twin and I mock in a high pitch voice.

Before Malfoy could get back at us, Percy appeared next to us. "What is all the commotion?"

"Malfoy was teasing Harry," Ron said.

Many people would think that students couldn't do anything about this. Well, at Hogwarts it was different. Each year, two students in their fifth year are picked to become prefects, along with Head Boy and Girl, a seventh year, of each house. Our older brother, Percy, became a prefect, therefore he can take house points and issue punishments.

Percy glared at all of us. "Five points from both Gryffindor and Slytherin. No more feuds during meals."

Malfoy frowns but walks back to his table. The other five of us glare at Percy. "Why did you take points from us?" George asked.

"To teach a lesson. Don't continue to carry on an argument." With that, he turned and left the hall.

I grinned. "Before that happened, guess what we did?"

"Threw snowballs at Professor Quirrel's head?" Harry asked, a grin on his face.

George glanced at me, his face holding the same shock as I felt. We both turned to the raven haired boy in front of us. "How did you know that?"

He smiled and shrugged, standing up from the table. "Lucky guess?" He turned to Ron and Hermione. "I'm heading to the library, finishing last minute assignments. Have a good holiday, Hermione."

Both of the other first years waved at him, and he turned back to us. "Oh, and windows are a marvelous thing." He gave us a wink and left the Great Hall, leaving my twin and I in shock.

Ron looked at us, humor filling his eyes. "And the famous Fred and George Weaslys have finally been shocked."

I shook my head, turning to George. "Did he-"

"Just outsmart us?"

Hermione laughs. "I think he did."
