"What's burning?" Yoongi asked as he made his way into the kitchen where Hoseok was making, attempting rather, to make dinner for the two of them before they head out. He waved the smoke out of his face and headed for the window, opening it wide to let some of the smoke out.
"Um probably the chicken.." Hoseok said as he opened the oven, a large cloud of smoke releasing into the air. He coughed a bit as he fanned the air and pulled the dish out of the oven.
"You're the worst cook ever." Yoongi said opening another window. The smoke slowly becoming more and more pronounced, he was sure the fire alarm would go off any second.
"Help me." Hoseok said as he tossed a towel towards Yoongi, to which they both started waving it around trying to fan the air.
Once the air was clear, they settled down in the living room and ate their dinner. Hoseok, through mouth fulls of food, asked Yoongi a question that made him nearly choke on his food.
"So, what's with you and that boy?"
Yoongi quickly put his fork down to take a long sip off his water.
"What? Who?" Hoseok gave him an inconvinced look.
"You know.." he picked up more food onto his food and waved it around as he talks, "that boy. He just moved in yesterday?" Yoongi remembered the events of yesterday and for a split second almost smiled.
"Oh, I don't know. New neighbor I guess."
Hoseok laughed softly and took a drink of his water and shook his head.
"No, stupid. There's more than just neighborly feelings."
"No there's not." Yoongi shot daggers at Hoseok, who raised his hands up.
"Alright, fine. Believe what you want and I'll believe what I want," He watched as Yoongi's expression softened a bit, which was rare for him. "See now you're thinking about him."
"I'm not." Yoongi shoved more food into his mouth, hoping that would hide the smile that threatened to appear on his face.
"Whatever you say," Hoseok said taking his plate into the kitchen, and Yoongi followed behind shortly. "You ready?"
Yoongi slipped his shoes on and opened the door, grabbing his keys and exited, Hoseok following close behind.
Hoseok walked behind Yoongi, watching the way his thin legs added a slight waddle to his walk. He smiled to himself as they reached the staircase and Yoongi took a second to head down, almost psyching himself out.
They entered his car and headed towards the building they worked at. Their jobs just so happened to have them linked to the same company and building, so it made sense that they catch rides together. Hoseok was always driving since Yoongi didnt particularly care for being behind the wheel. He most definitely wouldn't walk, though.
— "Tell me how it goes with him." Hoseok said as Yoongi got out the car.
"Shut up." Yoongi said as he closed the door and headed for the entrance. As he entered, he heard singing coming from one of the rooms. He made his way down the hall to a door that was slightly open. The voice captivated Yoongi completely, causing him to stop in his place. The way the voice harmonized with the song that was playing, the different adlibs, the pitch changes, everything about it made Yoongi feel warm inside.
When the song slowly came to an end, the voice dragged the ending out a little longer than the initial artist did. Yoongi sighed softly and leaned against the wall outside the door. He caused a creak in the floorboard and he muttered a "fuck" when he heard the next song come to a stop. He heard footsteps approach the door, not knowing if he should quickly make his way upstairs or stand there and potentially look like a stalker. Before he could even collect his thoughts, the door opened all the way, revealing the boy from before.
Yoongi's breathing hitched in his throat, his eyes slightly widening.
"Oh.. hello." The boy spoke softly. He gave Yoongi a small smile that accentuated his cheeks, almost completely melting Yoongi on the spot.
"Uh, hello." Yoongi managed to croak out.
"May I ask what you're doing outside my room?"
You are absolutely breathtaking..
"I was walking by and heard you singing." Yoongi was shocked by how natural like he was able to get that sentence out. The boy smiled back at him and pushed his blonde hair out of his eyes.
And your eyes are so pretty..
Yoongi stood there in silence as he stared at the boy, his features unlike anything Yoongi's ever seen before. He quickly shook his thoughts and stood up straight off the wall, realizing he was still leaning against it.
"Um I'm gonna get going now bye." Yoongi said quickly before heading up the stairs. He cursed at himself when he reached the top, turning back only to see that the boy had closed his door all the way. He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair and went into his room. He took his phone out and texted Hoseok.
Me: you're not gonna believe what my dumbass just did.
