"Kook?" I questioned as a kid bumped into me and quickly made his way into the building. Jimin came to stand beside me as we watched the silhouette of the boy remove his sunglasses beyond the glass door, "Is that him?"
"Yes," Jimin answered. Now, through the glass, I could see the eyes that haunted Jimin. A deep brown that could almost be mistaken for black. The same eyes that I remember from my childhood: from Namjoon's invitation. The kid was dressed in all black and didn't have a speck of emotion on his face.
This wasn't the kid from my childhood. This wasn't the Jungkook I remembered, this was someone else in his body. "He needs help," I said watching fretfully as Jungkook disappeared into the inner workings of the school.
"I know, but how?" Jimin questioned.
"Honestly, I'm probably not the most qualified of us to access this situation," I said taking Jimin's hand in mine leading him back to the apartment, "I think we need Jin or Joon's opinion on the situation and need to sit down with Jungkook."
"Sit down with him? But Yoongi, he keeps avoiding us," Jimin says as we round the corner coming to the front of the building, holding the door open for me.
"I know that's going to be the problem: getting him to trust us enough to open up and talk to us," I replied as we stepped into the elevator pressing the button for our floor.
Jimin opened the door to the apartment, ever the gentleman "Back so soon?" Jin asked from where he was sitting on the couch messing with his phone, while Namjoon was asleep on the couch, immobilizing Jin by resting is head in the older's lap.
"Yeah," I say sitting at the opposite end of the couch, setting Joon's feet in my lap. Jimin moved to sit on the opposite couch.
"Any luck?" He asked setting his phone on the armrest.
"Actually yeah, we did spot him again. But he also seemed to be expecting us and managed to make his way around us," I explained.
"Is there food in the fridge?" Tae asked walking into the main living area dressed in a pair of basketball shorts and sweatshirt. His hair was still a mess giving me the clue that he had just woken up.
"Yes, I put the breakfast leftovers in a purple tupperware on the second shelf," Jin said.
"Is Hobi awake?" I asked, watching the youngest in our relationship makes his way to the kitchen.
"Yeah," Hoseok answered from where he was perched on the doorframe, "Wish I wasn't but someone got hungry."
"Don't blame me. Blame Jimin, he took Yoongs away from you first," Taehyung yelled from the kitchen causing Namjoon to stir.
"Hey, you're back," Joon said to me, being the first person he saw, "Any luck?"
"Yes, but we think it's gonna take all of us to get him to talk to us," I say as Tae walked back into the room with the tupperware of now warm food.
"Jungkook has apparently become a ninja at avoiding social interaction," Jimin mused with a chuckle.
