Thousands of years ago the continent of Maza'Cora was ruled by the Two Lovers, Corinthia, and Maza'Kan. Those who lived amongst them were called the Everlasting, a group of immortal humanoids who were mostly perfect in every way. The Everlasting varied in appearances, powers, and strengths. The Everlasting was often seen and regarded as the angels of the goddess Corinthia. Corinthia ruled over life and reigned over peace and creation. Maza'Kan ruled over the balance of the world. If Corinthia created life, he had to create death; if she created the Everlasting, he had to create the Harbingers. The Harbingers were made for the sole purpose to keep the Everlasting from being too powerful and keep them in check. This displeased Corinthia, thus she began making her creatures stronger and stronger to oppose the Harbingers.

This began a back and forth power struggle between the lovers. A stalemate that ravaged the land turning it into the landscape it was today. Eventually, Maza'Kan did the unthinkable and betrayed his love in order to stop her. However, it took destroying himself and his creations to do it. By the end of  The Lovers War, no one remained. The Everlasting, The harbingers, and even the Lovers themselves were nowhere to be found.

Corinthia's reign was not in vain, for as she was drawing her last breath she used her power to create mankind. The power of the two lovers dispersed in their death and created the current pantheon as they are known today:

Orindalia: The Goddess of Knowledge and Patron of Elvish kind

Sarentho: God of War and Peace, Patron of the Humans

Far'Quital: God of Trickery, Entertainment, and Patron of the little-folk

Burgle: God of Commerce and Patron of the Dwarvish

Nero: God of the wilderness and Patron of Beast folk

Atsifia: Goddess of the weather and natural occurances

Rend: Goddess of the dark and misfortune and patron of devils

The pantheon as we know them took it upon themselves to create the races of the world. Through determination and hard work, these races prospered in the new world. The elvish races prospered in knowledge and magics. Humans prospered in land and war. The little folk reveled in the creation of drink and song, and the dwarves flourished in the business creation and commerce. Beast Folk and Elemental brings may not be highly sought out individuals but their connection to nature is u like any other. However the Devils whom walk the plains mostly only delve in villainy.

Through time the humans advanced and declared themselves number one, due to their overwhelming population compared to the other races. This eventually began the rise of the Astral Empire, an empire for Humans, by humans. The Empires feats of persuasion and cunning out maneuvered the other races and quickly, as if over night, the heel of the humans were dug tight into the throat of almost everyone.

All of the humanoid races were forced to fall under the rule of King Xevin II and his mighty empire. However, the beast folk, the elementals, and the devils escaped to their grasp. The elementals fled to the isles of the west, and the devils vanished. However, The beast folk of Corinthia's Gate moved beyond the massive mountain they called home and settled in new land. The only safe passage through the mountain range was through The Canyon Ruins which were purposely collapsed to prevent the empire from following them to their new sanctuary.

The Canyon ruins were always thought to contain the only passage to the Beast-lands. That was until the Dragonborn of Ro'koro Pass found an alternate route through a an old cave system hidden in the hills. After hearing of this Xevin II planned to storm the the Dragonborn and then, after destroying them, they would conquer the free beasts. Luckily Xevin heavily underestimated the Dragonborns and their mystical heritage. The Dragonborn army of Ro'koro Pass eventually disarmed, and dismembered Xevins army as well as Xevin himself.

After his death, his son Xevin III took the throne and recalled the troops thus ending The War of the Mountains.

In this story we take place 25 years after Xevin III's inauguration and the world has mostly calmed down, mostly being the key word. Here recently strange things have occurred through the land. Magic appearing out of no where, with no casters to be seen. Beasts of different sizes have be relocating to places they've never been before. All of this accumulates to the story about to be told.
