High Slits and Cocktails

Friday, 7:33 p.m.

"Hold still," Stella says, gently placing the fake lashes on Chloe's eyes. "Alright, you can open them now."

Chloe slowly opens her eyes and turns to look at the mirror on the left.

"Wow. Someone looks hot," Stella teases.

Chloe sits up from the chair in front of her dresser and looks at herself one last time. She is wearing a long emerald, green wrap-dress with a slit on the side, paired with cute nude heels. She is wearing her hair down with soft beachy waves and a minimal necklace to go with the deep v-cut of the dress.

With makeup complementing her brown eyes and golden skin complexion, she does look gorgeous.

"Talk about yourself, hun," Chloe says smirking and looking back at Stella, who is wearing a burgundy bodycon dress that complements her shape very well.

"Well, I guess you can say I do look hot." Stella jokes and they both giggle.

Stella picks up her clutch and says, "Alright, let's go meet Mr. Hottie."

"What!" Chloe looks at her with wide eyes.

"Party! I meant to say let's go to the party."

"Mhm, better have."

8:23 p.m.

"Do you think we are late?" Stella asks as they both enter the elevator of the Globex Corporation Building.

"I mean, it's not like it's half an hour past the start time," Chloe says sarcastically.

"Well, as they say, "the queen is never late, everyone else is simply early," Stella says with fake poise, holding her head up high.

Chloe shakes her head and smiles at her.

Ding.

As the elevator comes to a stop at the designated floor, they exit and make their way to the big lounging area.

"Ooh, I smell champagne and hot guys," Stella says.

"Definitely."

"And some hot sex."

"Here's a challenge. Try not to embarrass yourself for the next four hours."

"Yikes, that'll be hard," Stella jokes back.

As they walk in, Chloe recognizes some familiar faces and greets them. The rest of the room is filled with people she has never seen before, so she guesses they are most likely from Damien's company.

"Chloe!" Bruce calls over the soft music.

Chloe makes her way to her dad and gives him a hug.

"My little girl looks all grown up today," he says.

"Hi, Mr. Williams," Stella says hugging him as well.

"How are you, honey?"

"I'm great, thank you for asking."

"Let me introduce you girls to everyone."

"I would love that," Stella says with her ever so bubbly personality.

After going around the room and being introduced to almost everyone, Stella turns to Chloe and asks, "I don't see him."

"See who?" Chloe asks, looking around.

"You know... Mr. Steal-Your-Heart?"

"Oh, you mean him? Who's heart did he steal? Cause mine is right here."
