Letter from Dallas, five years from now.
Let me tell you, you are not ready for the craziness that is the last five years of our lives. It's been a good few years, and things have mostly settled down after we finished high school. But getting to that point was the definition of a roller coaster. Get ready for THE MOST EPIC LOVE STORY IN EXISTENCE, no that sounds exaggerated. A MODERN DAY TALE OF ROMEO AND JULIET DESCRIBING THE AFTERMATH OF FORBIDDEN LOVE, well, that's dramatic and also not true. A STORY ABOUT THE POWER OF FAMILY, that's better. THIS IS THE SYORY OF TWO TEENAGERS FINDING THEIR WAY THROUGH LIFE, RELATIONSHIPS, AND FAMILY AFTER THEIR WHOLE WORLD IS TURED UPSIDE DOWN. Perfect! I think the main idea when we started writing this, was to get the other persons perspective on the things we faced together. If you would have told me five years ago how my life was about to change in more ways than I could count, I would have laughed. But here we are today and I wouldn't have it any other way. Jonah and I are better than ever. And you better keep reading to find out how we got to that point. For those of you reading this that don't like change but have faced a big one in your life, never forget that the best thing we can do is keep the memories of the past, and adapt to the changes in the future. Sometimes life can be overwhelming, but having someone by my side to keep me upright when the world seemed to be spinning in circles made it an adventure we faced together and we are stronger for it. This isn't MY story, this isn't HIS story, this is OUR story.
Sincerely, Dallas
PS. A Penny For Your Truth Jonah?Letter from Jonah, five years from now.
I would like to start off by saying I was not a fan of this idea, but Dallas made me sit down and write this. I don't understand this. They're about to READ OUR STORY, why would they need to hear us talk about it first? And even though it would be cool if it worked this way, our sixteen/seventeen year old selfs are not going to be reading this. So what? We're writing this for total strangers? You know Dallas, I liked the book idea, but I was thinking this would be more anonymous. Not us publicly announcing that this book is about us and that this unbelievably crazy story is true and not fiction. Alright, I feel like I'm not getting a say in this, so hear goes nothing... What you need to know going in is that the main character is most kind, sweet, all around best person you will meet... ( here's where you guess whether or not I'm talking about myself and by that answer you decide whether or not I'm a totally self absorbed person) Obviously you know who I'm talking about, especially if you know me and even if you don't. Dallas is unbelievably amazing and I'm so glad she's been my best friend for the last five years. Now that's all your getting, because anything else I tell you about us or our lives now will spoil the story. All you need to know is that we faced challenges, but we'd managed to get through the worst of the storm and even though it wasn't perfectly smooth sailing from there, we knew that we had made it to the other side and would be alright. I'm going to run with this storm analogy a bit longer. Through this book you'll see how we braved the storm that would have sent most people running for cover, and how we fought to see the literal light at the end of the tunnel. You will see the bond that has steadily grown between Dallas and I that I never thought possible to have with another person. So get ready because, I'm sure Dallas already said this, you are in for the craziest of rides that is our LIFE. And that's the Truth.
Yours Truly, Jonah
Dear Readers, my best friend and I are excited to start on this story. We are two high schoolers with crazy schedules, so postings might not always be weekly, but we're trying. This is a crazy story that we came up with on a whim and we are excited to write. But keep in mind, we are writing this for ourselves. This is a fun and creative activity that we enjoy. So read it if you want. I can't promise it will be the best story you've ever read, but I can say that it will be entertaining. Also, I know the prologue doesn't really make sense. There's a lot of things said in there that are explained in the story and it's kind of an epilogue, it takes place a few years after the story ends. If your looking to see if this might interest you, I'd go off of chapter one and see from there. Happy reading! :)
