Chapter 2

I walked into the bathroom because my teacher was talking about something boring so I ditched and this was the only place where you wouldn't get in trouble for being out of class but when I looked and saw that Daron was here I was amassed he actually skipped I wasn't even looking to his face "Why the hell are you in here you should be in class." finally he turned around his face was half bruised and cut while the other side it was healed or healing." What the hell is happening to your face? Whys is it healing like that? It's disgusting but cool." I was so confused and curious about what was happening.

His voice was shaky and out of breath like he had just gone skydiving without a parachute." I don't know but I did get in a fight with the double b.s!"

Okay, still does it hurt? Is it felt weird? What was the fight like? Did anyone else see you?" I asked about a million questions to his he ether stared at the white sink or as best he could answer them he even told me about this weird dream thing in class about a guy named Talon and another one named Bryan or bran he said they talked about something and that it was important and that it could win the war whatever was going on was not my problem. But as far as I know he probably was dizzy from the healing thing but I wonder do I heal like that because if I did it would be pretty cool but still gross. 

"Hey you need me to take both shifts at Murrays tonight Daron?"He glared at me with his half bruised eyes it was almost like sorts of plea of thank or disgust.

"Sure ill cover with mom, can I say something?" he was choking on his words

"You just did but go ahead." damn I'm stupid don't be smart with a guy who is healing right in front of you.

"Could this be a side effect of the Tylenol I took this morning or could genetics be doing this to me or is it just puberty?" I could tell he was trying to make a joke out of this, but the way he's healing and the sound of his voice just made it sound as if it was his last breath on earth.

"My bets with the puberty thing just kidding but seriously I don't know bro." I tried to help him up he waved me away.

"Grate to know." his voice was shaky and jittery all at the same time.

The bell rang it was 3 period already I probably had science class normally I skip it cuz we helped out my mom, even though she says she doesn't need any help we work at  Murrays deli to earn a pay check here and there for awhile. I headed out the doors of the school I felt bad leaving Daron there alone and weak but what else could I won't let mom pay the bills by herself she couldn't even working 3 jobs not including looking after us which was enough as a full time job.

  The way to get into Murrays diner is in the back at least if you work there, it was dingy and wet typical New York weather but the alley way smelled of rotting food and grease also it had a hint of wet dog in it. I walked up to the big metal door banged three times the door creaked open a large bear of a man greeted me as I was about to walk in he had a old greasy apron on with a mop of short cut black hair and a double chin, his face was chubby, he had an earring in his left ear if you saw this man coming at you all you'd want to do is run and hide till you heard his almost childish voice it was quit pathetic really but if you've been around him as long as I have you'd learn not to make fun of him.

"What the hell are you doing here you have school?" his words cut through me he knew what I was here for to work not do anything else

"I have a spare so I thought I'd come over and work for an hour or two"
