"Ugh!" Kari groaned as sweat dropped off her neck as she endured the horrible pain.
"One more push, Kari," said the old lady. as she smiled encouragingly to Kari ''Ah there you go A beautiful young girl.'' Said the old lady. as she handed the babygirl to Kari.
Kari held her daughter with love, and, disappointment the child she gave birth to was a girl. and not a boy. Kari held her child. but frowned that the child wasn't crying, nor moving
Kari screamed and called the old lady with worry, ''CHAACHEE COME ! ''
Kari's other daughter rushed to the old lady, and called her ''CHAACHEE mother wants you! quickly''
the old lady limped quickly to Kari. and checked the baby. only to find out that there was no heartbeat. the baby was dead.
Kari and her husband were poor. She couldn't afford the burial costs. She tried to argue with her husband, and give her recently dead infant a proper burial. but her husband rejected her arguments and insisted on what he was about to do. everyone in their family was against Kari's decision. and Kari then finally gave up. and handed her dead infant to her husband. her husband that night. took his dead daughter and placed her near the garbage. While his tears fell from his eyes.
time skip~
''cook-a-doodle-doo'' The rooster crowed at the break of dawn, making Kari and her daughter wake up. The sun rose brightly. But all Kari could see was darkness. She was still mourning.
Emma, Kari's daughter helped her mom cook breakfast. Emma was cutting the onions and helping her mum making chana dal. an Indian recipe. that Kari's husband and son loved.
After cooking. Emma went to sell freshly made bread. '' have some bread. '' she was shouting.
On her way home. Emma heard a baby crying near the garbage. She rushed to the garbage. and gasped '' it's her. but how '' Emma ran to the house. and shouted and stuttered, ''mum ! she shes a-alive!''
Kari looked at her daughter. and said in a mourning tone. ''how could you make fun of your sister's death. getaway out of my face,'' Kari said.
Emma gasped for breath and said. ''mum I swear to god it's her she's alive!'' Kari ran to the garbage. and gasped out of joy. but then Kari felt her daughter cool skin. Kari realized that she was freezing. ''Emma bring warm water quickly.'' Kari soaked her infant in warm water, As her daughter slept peacefully. Emma then handed blankets to her mother. Kari wrapped her infant in the warm torn blanket. and held her close to her chest. ''My sweet child you have survived all this time, '' Kari said, then she took a long breath and said ''Anah. I'll name you Anah.''
