They've all know each other for a long time. Of course in different places at different times.

Kaldur & Dick

Seven year old Richard "Dick" Grayson had a loving family for the first five years,being a acrobat at a circus was just a plus, but it all changed one fateful day. Tony Zucco ruined everything. During one seemingly normal performance Zucco sabotaged the rope in out of anger at Jack Haly the leader of the circus. That fateful nate five year old Dick watched as all of his family fell to their death. The young boy was placed in the system one year after being put into a Delicate center. 

Kaldur'ahm "Kaldur" has been in foster since as long as he could remember. All anyone knew of his father was that he was Atlanten. The only reason that was know is because Kaldur is half-human, and Half-Atlantean, and had the ability to hold his breath for long periods of time, but lacked the gills to breathe underwater. Kaldur's mom tried her best, but didn't have it in her to be a good mom. Ultimately after a year of trying Kaldur was given to foster care whe invitation of seeing her son in the future with the invasion of seeing her in the future if he wanted. 

He was soon adopted by an nice older women, named Jane, who raised him for many years causing him to have a more proper speech pattern. They were happy until Kaldur was six, and the older women died unexpectedly in a car crash. He was placed back into foster care unable to have the money from Jane's will until he is eighteen. 

Ten year old Kaldur met seven year Dick Grayson at a  boys home. Both boys quickly became friend as they where both outcast for being  a 'Circus freak' and an 'abomination'. As well bond over their love of learning. 

During the years in foster care Kaldur was able to find a few books on Atlantan water magic and the Atlantean language, and quickly learned all he could with it to feel closer with his Atlantan half. He also learned basic self-defense to be able to protect each other. Dick thanks to his acrobatic history was talented at a lot acrobatics, and always learned more when he could. He had also took up advanced mathematics and advanced technology quickly becoming acquired to the art of hacking. 

It wasn't long after Kaldur saved Dick from the older boys, that they became brothers in all but blood. They watched each other's back using their talents to protect each other from any danger. Neither one being the "leader". After only a few months of knowing each other it only took a look to talk.

Wally & Artemis

They happened to meet each other first in kindergarten. Artemis had recently moved next door to Wally in the poorer side of Gotham, but hadn't met until second grade. After a fight over playground swing both second graders hated each other. 

It wasn't until nearly a year later they became friends. They had both been fighting over the swing once more when a bunch of fourth graders tried to run off the two eight year olds. The two unwilling to give up the swing joined forces, and managed to run the fourth graders off with only a few bumps and bruises. Since then they'd been all but conjoined at the hip. 

Artemis had a vast knowledge of self defense and weapon, her favorite being the bow and arrow. Something her dad had taught her in order to train her to be a villain like him. A fact which was one of the few times she allowed herself to cry.  She was also athletic always being one of the first to finish or best to have on her team. 

Wally on the other hand was more of the science and intelligent side of things. He was an inventor, and after years of not finding anything sport related he was good at, much to his dads annoyance, he learned he was a really fast runner. He was one of the fastest in the school. 

They shared everything. Artemis taught Wally everything her dad forced upon her in training, and Wally often helped Artemis with the few things in school she needed help with.  They knew each other like the back of their very own hand. 

They always stayed at each other's house whenever one of their fathers became abusive. It wasn't until a year later  however when Artemis's dad and sister walked out for good, and her mom got jailed for her dad's crime along with her own, that Artemis moved into Wally's house with his abusive dad and too-high-to-care mom. 

Conner Kent & M'gann M'orzz

Conner Kent never had the normal kids life. He was an failed attempt to clone superman. He didn't have any of Superman's powers except for slightly heightened strength and more durability the the average person.  

He was meant to be destroyed when he was six weeks old, six years physically and mentally, but another experiment managed to help him escape. He gave Conner his name and telling him to remember them, and come back someday to save them all.

After almost a year of managing living on the streets he was picked up by social services.  He was dropped into the system, but soon was adopted by a lady who wanted him for his image around her friends. 

M'gann M'orzz was just as normal as Conner. She was half-human half-Martian. Her Martin mother was unknown only leaving her at her father's door with a note explaining that she had to go back to her home planet. The only thing M'gann had of her mother was an organic made dress that shifted to always fit her as she grew despite having no Martian abilities other than being able to control the Alien material, and able to shift her skin from human pale to a whitish gray color.

Her father not wanting her sent her to her aunts in exchange for monthly child support, that never went to M'gann. For then M'gann M'orzz became regular Megan Morse. Her aunt hating both of her parents ignored the young girl unless it was to tell her to tell her not to use her freakish powers.

They were the last to meet in fourth grade. Megan had recently moved, and was getting bullied by a group of kids who found out about her history when Conner came to her rescue running the bullies off stating simply that he hated bullies. 

They became fast friends despite the being polar opposites. Conner would always face the bullies up front while Megan went behind the scenes scaring them with her alien skin and wardrobe. 

Conner was always an animal lover despite what his angry outer looks said. He would often be found spending time with animals or working on mechanics. Megan was acquainted in fashion at a young age, and quickly picked up healing after Conner got into more fights because of his anger as well as had more mechanical accidents being careless. 

They fit like a glove despite the little time knowing each other. They worked well together, and never let the other suffer alone. They knew they were better together anyway.

ALL

They all meet in sixth grade. The school districts changed, and Wally and Artemis ended up having to switch schools since their house landed a few blocks from their old school borders.  Kaldur and Dick ended up moving to another house together by luck, actually it was Dicks hacking, but no one needed to know that. 

They were all in the same grade thanks to Dick being moved up a year, and Kaldur being held back because of the system. They all started school on the same day, and Megan and Conner where assigned to show them around since they were part of the unofficial welcoming committee, which took a lot of convincing and a promise of Megan's homemade ice cream to agree. 

It's unknown how or why, but the naturally clicked. It was like an unknown force was pulling them together shaping them into one piece. It took only weeks for them to get to know each other and find a balance to their new group. They knew each other as if they've known each other for an entire lifetime. 

They were still closer in their pairs, but nothing could break their bond they built. They each taught each other everything they knew becoming a group nobody would mess with or bully always looking out for one another.
