School was two years ago
when waking up was a real struggle
when getting in that uniform was like winning a war against the bed that is holding you down and that sleep that had fully consumed you
School was when brunch box was shared with 10 people all from different sections sitting in one corner of class
School was when flirting with a senior was like an award winning performance
When telling a classmate 'I love you' as a dare was a 7th class achievement everyone was forced to achieve
School was teachers filled out diaries with complains and notes for the parents hoping that someday you'd start behaving and bring in all your copies for submission
School was when annual day practices became bunking periods
When interhouse compition was just another excuse to convince your teacher to not teach
School was when board decoration compitions was just another excuse by the principle to keep the classes presentable
And that was the only time the class united to win the competition
School was when assembly was a part of your morning routine and so was fainting for some
When the sun was bright over your head and your moring shower was of  no use
School was when hooting was a part of sports events and the discipline students were of no use at all
School was when computer labs were only made for students to fight for the seats in front of air conditioner
When the music teacher was the crush of school and everyone suddenly wanted to be a part of  the music team
School was when panics were the only way you could go out with your friends as kids
When the bag was full of tasty food and the entire bus would know when somebody opened their lunchbox
School was when flooding due to rain was the reason we could sleep till noon without any complaints from our parents
When sometimes 12'o clock in the noon felt like 12 in the night due to rainy clouds in the sky  and that was the only nights that were spent with our classmates and teachers playing some game
School was when teachers performed for the students on children's day and the school gave chocolates and chips as a treat
When the students bought roses and pens and cards and cakes for their class teachers as teacher's day surprises
School was when bestfriends now were put in different classes because the career demanded
When lunch breaks were speedy meetings for further day plans
And when tuitions were the only time to eat junk foods
School was when summer holidays was all about not wanting to stay home and discovering a new place
When going back to school after vacations was all about 5 more minutes of sleep and a promise to wake up after
School was when an excuse to not visit a relative was excessive homework to be submitted  the next day
School was when we tried alcohol for the fist time
When even the smell of cigarette made us make pukeish face
School was when our first relationship and our dream of spending the entire life with that one person
When our relationship ended and the world felt small to breath
School was when 8 pm was the maximum time we could stay out for
When craving for ice cream was just other way to meet our friends 'late' night
School was when we had a chit with our parents numbers in it, just incase we got lost
When mom dad came to pick us up and it felt like it had been days since we saw them
School was when carrying a notebook and pencil box felt heavy to our backs
When 12th class books felt the same pressure as us
School was when birthdays was all about wearing pretty clothes and distributing sweets in the class
When choosing a birthday gift for others was the toughtest job  we had to do
School was when 9xm was our favourite music channel
School was when 'we were we' and not 'you and me'
School was when antakshri was the classic bus song
When 'yaaron dosti' was sung last time during the farwell
School was the journey from bye to goodbye to see you soon
School was two years ago
when waking up was a real struggle
when getting in that uniform was like winning a war against the bed that is holding you down and that sleep that had fully consumed you.
