The Great Titan Helios Took reign of the skies at daywhen the sun comes out to playHe flies across the sky in the great sun chariotAround the world Showing the sun each dayBut then the great Zeus God of the Skies Ruler of thunderController of lightningHad a child so shinyso brightThe child was the god of poetry and music medicine and oraclesThe young god was ApolloYoung Apollo glowed goldHe was a Jack of many TradesBut that was not enoughSo over the eons the powerful and mighty Helios Titan of the SunFaded away, out of shrines, away from worship Because young Apollo was thought to be the god of the sunThen Apollo would ride the sun chariot When the sky turned to day Across the sky in his glory full mountWorshiped as the sun godHelios was left full of bitter vengeanceZeus had promised him that he could reign the sunIf Helios would side with the godsThe story of his revenge is a long and lengthy story for another day
