The Mall

Eleven's POV

Okay, honestly I don't know how to start this. How do I put this? Oh yeah, right. My name is el. aka Jane. But you can call me El. Me and max were at the mall getting ice cream at Scoops. It was just a girls day today. But I could of sworn that I saw mike and the rest of the boys here too. I just pretended I didn't see them or bother to tell max. I don't want to ruin her good mood she was in. I didn't want to ruin my good mood. I just don't want to see mike again after what he did. I know he lied to me about his nana. It made me mad that he lied to me. Max says boyfriends lie. All the time. And she's right they do. Now I hate mike. I hate his guts for what he did. (I know I know, don't hit me or hate me) it just upsets me. "Alright one strawberry cone and one vanilla cone with sprinkles" Steve. Is what read on his name tag on his shirt. "Thanks" max and I both said at the same time. "Hey, arnt you not allowed to be here" we looked at each other and started giggling as we ran out of scoops. I grabbed Max's hand, well attempted to. I must of scared her because she pulled her hand away from me. (I started laughing really hard at this, video above) She looked at me with those big blue ocean eyes of her. She smiled and held my hand. We started walking again. "Where should we go next?" Max asked me. I looked at her. I started thinking. "Hmm, I don't know. There's so many stores." I took a look around me once again and had a huge smile on my face. I looked at max again. She was smiling her bright big smile at me. I wish I could of kissed her right there and then. We were still holding hands with our free hands since our other hand had ice cream in them. I looked down at our intertwined hands and smiled. Man I don't think I've smiled this much before. Especially with mike. All he did was drag me around. Like I was some pet to him. "El!"
I looked at max. "Are you okay? You look mad." She pulled her hand away from mine missing the warmth that was there a second ago. She put her hand on my shoulder. I looked at her hand on my shoulder and I looked up at her. I sighed. "It's just what mike did. I could of sworn I saw him and the rest of the boys here, but I'm not sure. I don't know where they are but I saw them." I explained everything that was going on with me at the moment. I sighed again. "I'm sorry I ruined your good mood. I didn't wanna ruin my good mood either" I looked down. She took her hand off my shoulder and she gently lifted my chin up so I was facing her. She inched closer to me closing the gap that was between us. Looked me right my eyes with her hand still underneath my chin. She kept her gaze for awhile. She inched her hand up close to my cheek. I leaned into it a little closing my eyes. I felt a small smile playing on my lips. I opened them again. She stepped away from me, grabbing my ice cream cone from my hand. She still had hers. "Let's go find them and we can shove our ice in their faces." My eyes went wide as I stood in shock and just let max walk away from me. I got out of my trance and fast walked towards her and stopped in front of her. "No it's fine I don't want to go find them. This was supposed be just us. A girls day. I don't care about the boys. I care about you max." I took both ice cream cones from her hands and threw them away in a near by trash can and walked back up to her. I grabbed her hand and dragged her outside of the mall. I stopped and turned to face her. "I just want to go home. If the boys are I wanna leave. I don't want to be near them." She just looked at me. A small smile playing on her lips. "What are you smiling about?" She shook her head. "Nothing it's just-" she stoped mid sentence similar to what she did before. But this time she just stepped really close to me and put her hand on my cheek and the other around my waist and pulled me even closer to her if that's even possible. There was no gap between us as our bodies were touching. I felt butterflies in my stomach and my breath was uneven. She looked me in the eye and flicked her eyes down to my lips. I wouldn't be lying if I said I did the same thing. She licked her lips as I copied what she did. She kissed me gently as she moved her hand from my cheek down to the lower part of my back. I threw my arms around her neck. I kissed back with just the same enough passion. I wouldn't be lying if I said this was the moment I was waiting for. And I loved every second of it. She pulled away and smiled. We kept our grips on each other not letting go. "Your so beautiful el. And I love you so much." I smiled so wide. There go the butterflies again. I smiled big and kissed her again. I moved my arms from around her neck and used my hands to keep her there. She kissed back. We both pulled away. I rested my forehead against her. We couldn't stop smiling. I giggled. "Can we go home now?" I asked. She giggled and just nodded. "Yes of course el we can go home." I was about to peck her lips again until I heard someone. "Hey! Get your hands off my girlfriend!" It was mike. We let go of each other but I didn't let go of Max's hand though. I stuck by her side. She looked at me as I looked at her. "It's gonna be okay, I'll be right here the whole time" I nodded. Mike walked up to the both of us and ripped Max's hand out of mine. "What are you doing kissing my girlfriend!" He grabbed my hand. His grip was really super tight. It was starting to hurt. I looked at max as Lucas grabbed her hand. I saw the look in her eye and just knew she felt uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable. He turned to look at me as he let go of my hand. "What are doing kissing Lucas's girlfriend?! Your supposed to be dating me! Not her!" His face was red from anger. He made fists with his hands making them turn white. He threw his fist at me and I was waiting for the impact when I threw my arms up to my face. Nothing. I looked up and saw mike with his fist in mid air right next to my face. I was scared. I couldn't move. I wasn't the one who did that. And in the corner of my eye lucas still had a hold on Max's hand. She was trying to get out of his grasp, eventually she did. She ran back over to me and hugged me from behind and started whispering sweet nothings into my ear, after that I started bawling. I didn't know what to do. Max still had a hold onto me from behind as I fell to the ground and she came with me. She kept whispering in my ear and kissing my cheek and my neck and telling me that would be okay. After about five minutes I finally managed to calm down. I turned and looked at max and put my hand on her cheek. I kissed her lovingly and gently. She kissed me back. We both pulled away. "Uh guys who stopped mike from punching el?" Max and I looked over at Dustin. He shrugged his shoulders as he looked at Lucas. Lucas did the same thing. I finally realized who it was. My eyes went wide and I got up to fast as I stumbled a little. Max got up and caught me in her arms. I looked at her. I smiled a little. She smiled back. I got up a little slower this time. I looked at will. He had "the look" on his face. I know because it's what hopper calls it when I use my powers. His nose was bleeding. I walked over to him. "Will?" He looked at me. "I'm sorry I couldn't risk him punching you. I didn't want him to hurt you" I looked at him. Thankfully I had a light jacket on. I used the sleeve to wipe the blood from his nose. He let a small smile play on his lips. "Thanks el." I just nodded at him. "You can let go now" and that's what he did. Mikes fist went flying down to the side of him. He fell forward but luckily not on his face. He fell as he tumbled so he was facing us. He looked at me. He was angry. He got up but he was confused. Angry but confused. "How?? Who did that!?" I looked at him. I looked at max. She walked over to me and wrapped an arm around my waist. She kissed my cheek and I smiled a little. "What's so funny??" Mike yelled again. I flinched a little and hugged Max's torso and hid my face in her neck. I felt her kiss my head. Tears started running down my face again. She turned to face me again and her hand gently went up to my cheeks wiping my tears with the pad of her thumb. "Who did that?? Seriously?!" I was looking down when max lifted my chin with her hand ever so gently she kissed my forehead again letting it linger there for a second. She turns to mike while she still had a hold of me. I kept my gaze on max. She was grinning. A smirk played on her lips. Me and her both looked over at Will. He kept his gaze on mike. He looked sad, confused. Mike followed our gaze and he finally walked over to Will. I kept my hold onto max as I watched mike and Will. I saw a number on Will's wrist. 006 I looked at max. I know she saw it too. "The bus is here" I heard max say. I looked behind me and there it was. "You wanna go home now?" Max asked me again. I just nodded as we turned around and went towards the bus and got on.
