Aurora's POV
Glancing at my cell phone I notice I have one missed call. Mom. Picking it up I punch in her number and hit call. After only one ring my dad picks up the phone.
"Hey baby girl, how are you doing today? Your mother and I miss you."
"I'm good dad, where's mom at? Is she okay? I just seen that she called."
"Oh yeah she's fine. Just checking in on you. We've hardly seen you since..."
"I know dad, but you know I have to find answers, especially after what I did to Tommy..." Squeezing my eyes shut I try to stop the tears from rolling down my cheeks. I haven't thought about Tommy since that day...
"Ror, you listen to me right now, what happened to T-Tommy is not your fault. you understand me? He was trying to protect you. How would you have known how to protect him against a vampire when you didn't even know you weren't human. All we know is it takes tragedy to make that part of you to come alive. He was your big human brother, not by blood but he wouldn't have changed one thing, he saved you." His ragged breath was loud and clear from the other end, I could picture him sitting at the small ceramic table, hunched over the chair, his bare feet pressed against the cold linoleum floor, desperately trying to push it down instead of it peeling off.
"I'm just scared daddy, what if I can't find who put me in that adoption agency." Or why they didn't want me.
"I have to go dad, tell mom I love her and I promise to visit soon. I love you guys." I cried to him.
"Stay safe baby girl. We love you too." He said softly.
