They don't know
That every time it rains, I get nervous and fidgety and if it starts raining hard and I'm at home, I go up to my bedroom and hide under the covers until its over. When there's a thunderstorm I immediately go to the closest window and just stand and stare. I start to panic and my hands can't stop shaking. I can't think straight. I go from the back of the house to the front and my parents do the same.
If it starts raining at school I don't do any of those things and when people get scared by thunderstorms I try to rationalize them whilst still being concerned about home.
