Minghao's pov

I can't sleep, it's hard, and everything is complicated. I can be scared, right? No, I can't. I have to keep a good impression on my baby brother. It's only him and I now, not to consider our sorry for an excuse, dad, but we're fine. That's what they all say.

It was the first day of junior year. I can't go back to that school, but I have to get good grades and go to college. That's what my mom would have wanted for Bai Lou and me.

I got up to my dad yelling at my brother. I stopped it and, in return, got a slap from my father. 'That's gonna leave a mark.' I thought. It was worth it if it wasn't hurting Bai Lou. Every time I would do it for him, he was still too young, and I would always protect him even when he grew older.

My dad finished yelling at me, and I was already late for school. So I spent getting ready and walking. When I got to school, I went to my locker and grabbed my books for the day.

I turned around to find one of my favorite bullies, hint at the sarcasm. I tried to ignore and pass him, but all he did was trip me to where my books were scattered on the ground. He only called me a few names and stepped on my hand before going to class. I doubt he went to class, probably off to ruin another kid's life or smoking. I tried to push myself up with my hurt hand but failed. I saw a tall, blond, angelic boy holding his hand out to me. It was one of my friends, Wen Junhui or Jun he prefers, or that's what you can call us. Friends.
