Finding Us Again

The Talk

• Shawn

        As he heard the door open, he closed his eyes tighter. He took a deep breath in and smelt the aroma of the food that Cami must of made him. He relaxed his face and pretended to be sound asleep. 

"Shawn? Babe?" He heard her say and it was hard for him not to smile and burst out into laughter. 

As she made her way over to him, Shawn thought it was unusual for her to kiss him - especially with morning breath that he had. He had to admit that they weren't as close as they use to be. With him at work and her going to college it was hard for the both of them to spent time alone together. 

Shawn started to get up slowly, he rubbed his eyes gently and looked at his girlfriend. 

"Hey good morning, I made you some breakfast.." He heard her say quietly. Something was holding her back, he could tell. Shawn wasn't sure if he should get down to business and talk about last night or love on her like he would normally if they didn't have an argument. 

"Good morning, thank you.." Shawn responded and finally got down to business. He couldn't take it anymore, he hated to see her quiet, disappointed and sad. He loved her and he knew that last night definitely hurt her. "Can we talk about last night?" He asked, rubbing his eyes, wishing he could go back to sleep but with Cami in his arms. 

He noticed that Cami took a deep breath in before nodding her head. 

Shawn sat up fully and took a big breath in, he brought two of his fingers up to his mouth and started to bite on his shorten nails, it was a habit since he was young that he hasn't broken yet. He finally spoke up but only to be interrupted by Cami.

"Cami, I-" He said before getting cut off. 

"Don't, I know why you were late and why you forgot about our anniversary but I just.. I don't understand why you wouldn't call or at least text?" Cami said to him, he could sense that she was beyond annoyed. Shawn grabbed Cami's hand gently, he knew he would have to come up with some great apology if he wanted marry her. 

"Baby, I told you I was really busy." He said and let a deep breath out. 

"Really Shawn? You don't think I realize that? Shawn, it was our third anniversary dinner! I thought it was going to be magical.. I thought you were going to propose but who knows what you were doing at that office.. I'm not dumb, I know those girls there are all over you!" She yelled, he felt her hand jerk away from his grasp. 

Shawn didn't know what to do, he hated himself for missing last night but he couldn't find the words to tell her that. He also wanted to yell at her because of her comment and before he could stop himself that exactly what he did. 

"Yeah? Well, I'm sorry that I have to work those hours! I'm sorry that I had to get off my ass and do something! I'm the one who pays for the fucking bills and buys your cute little clothing and shit! Don't fucking accuse me of cheating, you know I would never do that to you! Do you think that I like staying in late at the office? You don't know the hell I go through! Oh and then I have to come home to you bitching at me?" He yelled, Shawn hardly meant anything he said but he was pissed. 

He saw how hurt Cami looked after he yelled at her and immediately felt bad. He watched her walk away and go out of their bedroom.

"Cami.. I.. I didn't mean any of that... I'm sorry!" He pleaded and followed her downstairs. He was fast enough to get in front of her. 

"Baby, Cami.. Stop for a minute, please..." He said and gave her a pleading look.

• Cami 

       Cami couldn't believe that Shawn would speak to her like that. In the whole three year that they were together, he has never gotten that upset at her. By now, she didn't want to fight with him anymore. 

"Hey.. I wouldn't work those hours if I didn't love you. I am definitely not cheating on you, Cami. I just want to be able to care for you, I know.. We have a huge house.. and a great life but I just feel like.. I'm not good enough for you, like I owe you more.. " Shawn admitted. 

Cami was taken back by his words, Shawn hardly ever was the kind of that shared his feelings and when he did, he meant it. Cami sighed and pulled him into a hug. 

"Shawn, I love you so much.. Just you, not your money or anything like that.. I'm perfectly fine with just you.. If you want to cut back on hours or maybe i'm telling you to cut back on hours.." Cami said with a small smile. She gently squeezed his waist, "Babe.. I don't care what you do.. I just want to spend some more time with you.." Cami added. 

Shawn nodded and kissed her head before kissing her lips. "Me too.. I love you. I promise in the future that you'll get a big fat diamond ring and i'll make that anniversary up to you." 

Cami nodded at the idea and kissed her boyfriend. Throughout the day, both of them didn't keep their hands off eachother. When it turned dark, they cuddled up together and just watch some movies on Netflix, falling asleep together. 

OhMyGosh, Such a cute ending.... But in all seriousness, some messed up shit is going to happen! Don't think they are some cute little couple.. Just a warning :) Thank you for reading! Please Vote!
