Dee woke up the next morning and he was so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes open. He had a test today in his literature class. He knew the material, he wasn't so worried. He and heavy rushed off to school and got there just before the bell rang. Dee sat in the back of the class. He waited for his teacher to come in and then he noticed a new girl sitting on the opposite side of the room. He knew it was a girl from the shape, but she wore a grey hoodie with the hood up. He stared at her for a few minutes before she glanced over at him. They made eye contact and she looked at him with her brow furrowed and gave him questioning and angry look. Dee gave a small, scared smile to her and looked away quickly. Who was she. She wasn't there yesterday and today was a Friday. It must suck to start a new school at the end of the week. Dee was intrigued by this mystery student. He kept glancing at her from time to time. He didn't dare let her catch him. The teacher came in and ordered that she take off the hoodie. She asked if she could keep it on since she was cold but the teacher said she could keep it on in the principal's office if she wanted to argue with him. She decided not to push the rules and stood up, removed the hoodie and sat back down. Dee was in shock. The girl was beautiful although a little unkempt. She had bright red hair put up into a messy bun and bright blue green eyes. She had on an Arch Enemy T shirt and blue jeans. Dee couldn't look away and this time she caught him staring again. The girl turned completely red and turned to look at the board. Dee wanted to know everything about this girl. Who was she and why did she join school this late in the year? While he pondered this the bell for lunch rang and the girl stood up put her hoodie back on and walked out the door. Dee couldn't find her anywhere he searched the lunchroom and hallways but then he gave up and thought he was being a little creepy. He decided to go out to the courtyard and read. As soon as he stepped out of the door, he saw her sitting under the tree where he reads everyday. He thought he would play it cool. Act like a tough guy. He walked over to her. "That's my spot. I read here everyday. Ask anyone and they will tell you." He said, pretending not to be excited to see her. "I know. I asked your friend where you went. Why are you stalking me?" Dee was shocked and felt like passing out. "What? Why? I'm not stalking you, your stalking me."
She shut her book and looked up at him. "What's your deal? Why do you keep staring at me in class all day? It's really annoying and it's pissing me off. I can't do my work with you staring at me."
Dee was scared. Had she caught him staring Everytime, or just the 2 he knew of? He didn't know and he didn't know what to say. "I'm sorry, it's just, your new and I haven't seen you before. I like to familiarize myself with my surroundings. I'm Dee by the way." He held out his hand and she looked at it and raised an eyebrow.
"I'm Emily" She said grasping his hand as she rose up from the sitting position she was in.

"So why did you just start school here? Did your family need to move quickly?" Dee questioned.

"You could say that. I don't exactly have family but I have a guardian. I'm in state care and I was sent to another family. It sucks that I had to move schools just before summer break."

"Oh, well... That's... Interesting." He stumbled over the words as he face palmed. He grimaced and hoped the fumbled comment would be taken well.

She giggled. "Your cute when your confused." She said as she walked back into the school building.
