The Pup

Chapter 2

      *Lexi as her wolf pup above*

   When I wake up, I hear snuffling outside my hole.

   Crawling deeper in my hole, I wimper by accident. The snuffling stops as a nose enters my hole.

   Scared, I let out a little growl. But the nose doesn't leave.

   I reach out and nip it, it then pulls back, with a yip of surprise. I see the nose is bleeding a little and my wolf is pleased with herself.

   Then a cracking of bones starts and I hear a voice. "Alpha, you said to call you when one of us smelled something. It's in the hole."

   Then a hand reaches in, I growl and nip the hand, just like I did the nose. The hand disappears, and I can hear laughter.

   "I was going to warn you Alpha," the voice says. "It bite me." I hear as he growls.

   I wimper in fear, from the growl. The alpha is mad, whoever that is.

   The hand reaches back in my hole and grabs me behind the neck. I give a cry, of surprise and hurt.

   Pulling me out of the hole, he holds me up at face level, which is very high up.

   Looking at me, he looks confused, and a look of worry crosses his face. "Where is your mommy, little one," he asks.

   I wimper and start crying. He brings me to his chest and holds me like a baby. "It's ok, little one, your safe now," he says.

   I barry my head into his arm, and cry, as I feel him walking.

   I soon hear a door open and close behind us, I am to scared to pull my head out of his arm and look around.

   "Ana, baby please come here," he says, loudly. Sitting me down on something soft, I finally open my eyes.

   Looking around, I see a big room, and it's nice. I am laying on a couch and the guy is sitting next to me.

   Cheering up a little, I wag my little tail happily.

   "Can you shift back, little one," the guy asks, looking at me. I give him a confused look and a wimper.

   "All you have to do, is picture your human self and you'll shift back to normal," he says, "do you understand, sweatheart."

   I nod my head. Picturing myself, I soon feel my bones breaking and rearranging, but not as painful as before.

   Before I know it, I am laying on the couch, with my hands and feet, and hair.

   "There you go sweatie," the guy says.

   "What do you nee....d," a voice says walking into the room, as I sit up.

   "Honey where is she from," the lady says nicely. "Found her, in the woods," he says. "All alone," she replies. He nods his head.

   The lady scoops me up in her arms, "little one, where's your mommy and daddy," she asks.

   "I don't have a daddy, but mommy said she couldn't do it anymore and ran away," I tell her, crying now.

The guy growls, angrily. Causing me to wimper and cry into the lady. "John, your scaring her," the lady tells him.

   "I'm sorry sweetie," he says, "what's your name."

   "Lexi May Summer," I tell him.

   "Well Lexi, that is a very pretty name, my name is John and that there is Ana."

   "Let's go get you a bath, and clean clothes," Ana says. I nod eagerly, "I love bathes," I tell her excited.

   She takes me to a bathroom and turns on the bathtub. When it's half full, she helps me out of my dress and sits me in the water.

   Washing my hair and body, she grabs a towel and helps me out. Wrapping me up in a towel, she picks me up.

   Taking me into a bedroom she sits me down and goes to a door, she then comes back with a shirt and pants. "I'm sorry honey,but all I have are boy clothes," Ana says.

   "It's ok," I tell her. She then helps me put the clothes on. The shirt has a car on it.

   "Come with me," Ana says. Walking out of the room, she goes into another. Smelling the room, I can smell that it is Ana and John's room.

   Sit down on the bed,Lexi and I'll brush your hair and make it pretty," Ana says. I climb into the bed and sit down.

   "Mommy, Xander's being mean," says a little boy running into the room. He stops and looks at me.

   "Why are you in my mommy and daddy's room," he says.

   "Now, Hunter, be nice to Lexi," Ana says coming in the room with a brush and hair ties.

   "Momma, who is she," Hunter asks. "Well if she wants, she's going to be your little sister," Ana says, ruffling Hunters hair as she walks by him and sits behind me.

   "Would you like that dear," she asks, while brushing my hair. I nod my head, yes.

   After she was done with my hair, she let me go play with Hunter and his friend Xander.

   "Want to play tag, Lexi, Hunter always wins, but it's fun," Xander says. "Ok," I reply.

   We all run outside, into a fenced in backyard. "Xander's it," Hunter yells and starts running away. I follow Hunter.

   "Hunter, Lexi dinner," Ana yells from a window, "Xander your mom is here."

   "Bye Lexi, bye Hunter," Xander says walking out the door with his mom.

   "Ok Lexi that is where you sit and Hunter sits there,"Ana says. She makes our plates and then hers as John makes his.

   Looking at my food, I notice it is spaghetti. I stick my tongue out at it, making a funny face.

   I hear John, Ana and Hunter laughing, "what's wrong don't like spaghetti, Lexi," John asks. I shake my head, but begin to eat it anyway.

   After dinner, Ana took Hunter and I to our rooms. "Lexi this is your room now, we'll decorate it how ever you want, tomorrow when I take you shopping for clothes and stuff," Ana says.

   Covering me up, she reads me a book, 'Green Eggs and Ham,' which quickly becomes my favorite book.

   I am soon falling asleep, "night Lexi, sweet dreams baby," Ana says turning off the light.
