Strike Back (BNHA Vigilante Deku Fic)

Chapter 1: Lost in my thoughts

        "You should probably give it up kid." After all that dreaming, after all the things Izuku Midoriya said to himself every night before sleeping, all went to waste.

        "Wait what do you mean? He has to have a quirk! All of his classmates already got them already." His worried mother, Inko Midoriya said.
"Give it up Ms Midoriya, as you can see on this X-ray scan here, Izuku here has two joints in his smallest toe, which due to research, most quirkless individuals have. The chance of him having a quirk is less than 1%."

         The doctor sighed in pity, continuing on, not noticing the child's heart cracking even more as he droned on. "His future is extremely bleak, because he doesn't have a quirk, which most jobs require, or want in the society, and he cant really do anything useful to this society."

         Izuku looked down at the All Might figurine on the floor, his face covered in tears. Is this really what his future would be like? Would he be a useless person? Why was this happening to him? What did he do to deserve this?

         He felt his mother's hand comforting him, as his mother bid goodbye to the doctor and led him out of there. Before they leave, he hears the doctor say "useless piece of quirkless filth" before the door closes.

         Daylight fades to night, as he cries to himself in his room, hearing his father shouting " I DON'T NEED AN USELESS QUIRKLESS WEAKLING OF A SON! YOU GAVE BIRTH TO THIS WEAKLING ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Before storming out the apartment and slamming the door. He hears his mother cry and sob, before coming to his room drying her tears on the way.

        "Izuku honey are you there?" His mother says quietly. "Mommy, where did dad go?" "He... went to work overseas! Yeah he went overseas, he went overseas..." Inko Midoriya is a smart woman, but she doesn't know her son is extremely smart, and that he had heard their previous conversation.

        'Why did dad leave, is it because im quirkless? Its my fault that mommy's crying, I need to comfort her, its what heroes do right? Right?'

       "Mommy, can I be a hero?" These five words shattered Inko's heart, as she saw her son flash a broken smile, eyes full of tears and hope. She loved her baby boy so damn much, she couldn't bear to see his lifelong dream be shattered.

      "Izuku......

      ..... YOU CAN BE A HERO!"
