Bailey
I had no clue how I was going to do this with Blake. I really liked her but it had been so long since I dated anyone. I had so many questions. I knew she was on the rebound. It seemed like she was really getting over her ex though. I was older than her but I know that didn't matter to either of us. I was surprised she let me kiss her. I was happy she did but, I knew it couldn't go pass that in the same night. I wanted to court her at the same time as being her a friend before anything. I knew I had to keep it professional as well. Gosh this was going to be a task.
We stayed there a little later before heading home. I invited her back to the beach house for the weekend. She accepted. I never worked on the weekends and if the other contributors wanted to go into the office I didn't mind. I would go in only if there was a deadline that needed to be met. I was going to take this weekend to get to know her better and relax. We stopped at her house first. She invited me in.
"Wow. I like this. It looks like you put a lot into decorating."
"I did. I was going to break the lease when I moved in with Chris but I thought about having some place to call my own when I couldn't be around him. I also didn't want that on my credit."
"Can I ask you something Blake?"
"Shoot."
"Do you think this could actually go somewhere? I'm not saying we have to get married tomorrow but I know you're on the rebound and I don't want to rush things. I just wonder what you expect in this moment."
I follow her to her bedroom. Of course, it's beautiful. Everything was so neat. She even had a vanity set up. I should've expected that. Her makeup was always nice. I figured she took her time with it. She moved rather gracefully around her bedroom. Carefully selecting things to put in her bag. She took her time answering my question but, she finally sat down to respond.
"I expect that you will be my friend and that if anything happens then it happens. I don't want anything forced. I enjoy your company and I feel like I could learn a lot from you but I just want to spend time and get to know each better. Although I respect your questions, it's been two days and I couldn't give a solid response. I am working at getting over Chris but being with someone for that long will make moving on a little harder. I do still love him. I have also never seen myself with a woman. When you kissed me though, it felt right. I'm not closed to anything but I also don't want to lead you on."
Wow good answer. I knew our ages weren't too different. However, she was well beyond her years. I could come to admire her. She was beautiful, talented, and intelligent. I watched her process her thoughts. Being careful with her words. I couldn't help but stare as she starred off into space, silent from whatever was running through her mind. She finished getting her things together and we headed out.
I remember the first time I actually noticed her. We were the only two in the office. She was helping with a project in the office. She seemed shy but she spoke when I walked in. It wasn't until she stood that I noticed her. She could've been a model honestly. She had beautiful dark honey skin. She had natural cat shaped eyes that were almost hazel. She had full lips that curved perfectly when she smiled showing her pearly whites and her adorable gap. She was breathtaking really. She would sometimes wear her hair down or pulled back. It was usually in a wavy bob. I had never seen her real hair though. The weaves always looked natural but, I wondered what her real hair looked like. She was what the young people consider slim thick. After that day of watching her handle things even though the person she was helping wasn't in the office I viewed her differently. There were other secretaries that worked for some of my more popular designers and magazine editors but people often complained that they were lazy. She wasn't on that radar. I found that most people would just ask her for help because they knew they could depend on her. I can't lie. I wouldn't mind having her on my arm. Especially getting to know her now but I knew that was a long time coming. We made a stop at the market and then headed to the house. I got started on a light dinner because it was rather late but we were hungry. I made chipotle chicken Panini's while she prepared a fruit salad. We of course paired this meal with a chilled bottle of wine. I watched her carefully cutting the fruit up. She was definitely a pro. It looked like something from a restaurant or the grocery store. She told me she felt like store brought fruit trays or salads were expiring fruits. That's why she preferred to make them herself. I never thought about that. After we finished making dinner we sat by the fire place and set the plates on the table. We ate first and then relaxed after I lit the fire place. It was always a nice breeze since the house was right by the water so I always opened the windows. She looked rather deep in thought.
