23 - Family Avenue

Nala watches Jasper carefully pull his arm out from under Lilo before leaning over and kissing both their heads. "I love you. See you soon, okay?" He whispers.

She nods and smiles small as he heads out, glancing back only once before he closes the door. She sighs and looks across at her daughters asleep beside her ; Lilo wanted to stay with Jasper and her while Effie didn't settle till a few hours ago. So they all cuddled together.

Nala quietly grabs her knitting and turns the lamp on, quietly taking her time to knit the little hat. Her girls will match this winter, so long as she gets her butt into gear and finishes the hats. Just as she finishes a row Esther stirs making her set it down and pick her up.

"Hi grumpy bum." She coos softly as she rubs her back. "How about we go see everyone at the hospital? It's been a while huh." She whispers. Lilo has school so she'll need something to do to distract herself.

Effie stretches big and cuddles her mommas chest making Nala smile. She grabs the sling and ties it under Effie so she's cradled and heads to Li's room, grabbing her clothes for the day and making sure she's filled all the things she needs to out in her book bag.

Lilo yawns as she sits up, her mom just coming in. "Do I gotta go?" She grumbles.

"Yeah you do, you've got your school trip next week with auntie Alice, so you gotta be in school to do all the learning." Nala laughs. She sets Esther in her swing so she can change herself, opting for jeans and one of Jasper's black t-shirts; she ties it in a knot at the side so it isn't so baggy, more like a crop top.

"Do I have to call Alice and tell her you won't be good?" Nala raises her eyebrows. "If you're not dressed by the time I've sorted Effie, we won't have time to stop and get pancakes."

Nala smirks as Lilo scrambles to get ready as her mom goes across the hall to the nursery. She slips Effie into a flowery onesie with a all in one snow suit, slipping the hat one of her fellow nurses knitted for her. "Who's my gorgeous girly!" she coos as Esther shrieks. "Let's see if sissy is ready."

Lilos footsteps can be heard running downstairs as she runs to her boots; Nala laughs and grabs her school back along with the changing bag before following her, buckling Effie in the car seat. "Alright, you did it my girly, we have time to stop and eat pancakes."

Lilo grins happily and they head to the diner by the school; Lilo devours hers as Nala more conservatively eats, taking her time as she keeps an eye on her children. She's nervous without Jasper close by, but she knows Alice, Bella and Rose are home with Esme, so one of them will be checking in at all times - which she doesn't mind.

After dropping Lilo at school, Nala drives to the hospital and smiles; she misses work, but she isn't ready to come back. Not only is she not ready to leave her little Effie but she also still has a lot of physio to do and she cant spend too long on her feet still. One day, however, she'll be back.

She sits Effie on her hip as she heads in, smiling as she sees her crew around the nurses station. "What, you got no work to do?"

They all gasp. "Nally!"

"Esther!" Nico squeals as he immediately takes her.

Nala laughs and hugs the others. "Hi. I thought I'd drop by, see how you are all handling this place without me."

"It's still standing, isn't it?" Paisley giggles. "We're good. How's Jasper? The baby and Lilo?"

"They're good. Someone's finally giggling, which just makes your ovaries want to burst." Nala giggles as she watches Effie smile at Nico's... Well, Nico's 'Nico-ness'. "I miss you guys, and having things to do."
