Chapter 9: Adios amigo||

Astrid's View:

Jesse stayed and left. Then even though I hate it so much but sadly we went back to school. At least I know I have someone who flew down to me only to know if I was okay and doing fine.

We were at the bus and Coach Orion was Calling Names making sure we were all present. We had a game today. Fulton came back not too long ago. Like a day ago in fact and got in contact with Orion telling him he's coming back. But I haven't heard of Charlie.

"Mendoza..Reed". He said the names.

Then In the corner of my eye I saw Charlie hop in the bus.

"Conway?" Coach said confused as ever.

"I want to be back on the team coach...I want to play two way hockey, Can I come back?"

"Take a seat , we're running late...let's go we got a game to catch". Charlie smiled and turned to look at the team but his eyes landed on me.

"This about to be good". Averman said. The whole team shook their head.

"Astrid".

"Mhm..what?"

"I'm sorry".

"For?"

"I'm sorry for being one of the biggest mess up's. I have no forgiveness to what I did to you. All you did was try and care for me. I lashed out on you and I said things I never meant. I feel ashamed for what I done. I don't have any excuses. I did what I did. I take full responsibility for myself and my actions. I wouldn't pawn this off on anybody. I'm sorry it happened. And I hurt you and I'm truly sorry. You're my backbone. You're a blessing. You're a piece of my heart. You're the air I breathe. And you're the strongest person I know, and I'm so sorry for having to put you through this and having to put us through this." He breathed out.

"Okay and?"

"Come on Astrid forgive the man. Do you want a full 10 page essay or what?" Russ said. I ignored him.

"Continue Conway?"

"I truly never-". I cut him off with kissing him. The whole team cheered and clapped. It all moved in a slow pace. How much I missed him. Suffering a little doesn't hurt no body. Who am I kidding.

"I'm just playing with ya". I teased Charlie and pulled him in a hug. We pulled apart and kissed again. But it was cut short when Russ spoke again.

"It's about time Conway". Russ did a handshake with Charlie. "Oh man you should've seen your face". He began to imitate him. He pouted his lips and fluttered his eyes so he can be a puppy.

"Oh coach. I want to play two-way hockey, can I come back?" He said. We all laughed and Charlie just chuckled. Not offended at all. Charlie hit the back of Russ head.

"Ow". Russ complained.

"Should of seen Astrid. Oh lover boy. I forgive you with all my heart." Averman teased. I wacked the back of his head too.

"Ow Astrid. Come on". Averman complained too.

"I never said those words. Lester". He pouted his lips and I stuck my tongue at him. He did it back and we laughed.

We were about to leave before Dean Buckley knocked on the bus door.

"I almost missed you...coach mind if I speak to your boys?"

"And girls". Julie called out.

"Yes of course, and girls".

"If you can make this quick". Coach said trying to get out of here and make it on time to the game.

"I'm afraid this is important. We have a board meeting scheduled tomorrow. And well you are on the agenda. We have to think long term here! What's in your best interest? Hard as it is personally, because you kids have been a breath of fresh air around here. The board is going to approve the withdrawal of your scholarships. Now, you'll be welcomed to stay through the end of the semester but after that it will be necessary for you...to enjoy other educational opportunities". He said.

"Dean I need a word with you". Orion began to say.

"I think I've said all I needed to say".

"Now". He sternly said.

Then they left the bus and stood right outside talking.

"Other educational opportunities? What's he saying Russ?"  Dwayne asked. Confused.

"I'll put it in terms you'll understand..adios amigo".

"Oh I see..".

Dean tried to negotiate but it didn't help at all.

"So that's it? You are dumping them just like that?" Coach said angrily. We heard the commotion and we all stood by the entrance of the bus to hear.

"Coach, I'm sorry. Your team isn't performing and I've been under enormous pressure." 

"From who? The alumni? A bunch of aging pep clubbers?" 

"Ted, I'm trying to do you a favor! With those kids gone, you'll get to pick your own team! Let's face it the ducks are drowning!"

"I got my team. Either they stay or I go." 

"We'll miss you, Ted". Dean patted coach on his shoulder. And began to walk away.

"Listen you little bit-". Kenny covered my mouth with his hand. I rolled my eyes. When dean was away from us Kenny removed his hand.

"You are so lucky you are a little person. Cause if not. You would of gotten it Kennyman." He chuckled nervously not sure if he should be terrified or threatened.

"Why us?"

"Cause he's a slime".

"Cause he's a little bitch". I said with Russ at the same time. Everyone just turned to me. I shrugged my shoulders.

"You always have something to say little lady". Dwayne said and ruffled my curly hair.

"We're just pawns, puppets of a stage show. Jesters to entertain the king, barnacles on the bottom of-". Averman began to say.

"Shut up". Me and Russ said. We looked at each other and started laughing. Then Connie glared at us.

"Not the time Tyler". Russ nodded his head and we stopped laughing.

"Coach is this legal? I mean, don't we have contracts or something".

"I don't know what this is. All i know is we're are going to fight it". Coach said.

"Ese hombre es un hombre anciano sin corazon, que cada vez más calvo". I told Luis. We were the only ones who knew Spanish. (Translate:That man is a old man without a heart who each time is more bald)

"Eso es tan cierto que se borra de la mala manera". (Translate: That's so true, he rubs off the bad way) I nodded and we just rolled our eyes.

All we knew is we had to get someone to help us out.

And I know the perfect person to do that.

Cause I sure as hell didn't want to leave. As in Bye bye amigo.
