The heavy luggage strained her arms as she struggled to carry her belongings to the front door. The smell of anger filled the air and her emotions screeched past every footstep she took. Her shoulder length hair was pushed into a small ponytail, where the ends would slightly brush over the back of her neck. Her fringe laid gently across her hot flushed cheeks allowing her storming brown eyes to exaggerate her current emotions.

"It's not you, it's me." Said a sympathetic voice from behind.

"That's what they all say Charles!" Phoebe emphasized

Charles attractive appearance almost left phoebe feeling guilty for yelling. His ragged shirt appeared half untucked with his blue and black spotted tie loose around his broad neck. Unfortunately, she hates that she still remembers the very first day they met. Her eyes rolled dramatically as she remembered when he asked her if she would like a coffee, and laughed at the response that she would rather drink juice over caffeine. A trip to Starbucks was never on her list.

His appearance has not changed much over the past four years. He still looks like he's 24 with an addiction to sleeping in and a bad case of horrible hair day, everyday.

His position slouched as his right hand slipped a white letter loudly off of a unsteady table along the wall, making sure Phoebe knew well that it was important.

"Please, for us." He whined, handing her the letter.

"And I assume that's the divorce papers?" She questioned harshly, rejecting his offer of the letter.

"I thought this would be the perfect time to discuss it as you're moving and changing careers." He explained shrugging his shoulders.

Her eyes just glared at his response. Both of their personalities did not mix well. The type of people that should not be around together when an argument has formed.

"Don't let the door smack you on the way out." Charles yelled slamming the screen door shut.

"It's always about you and never about us." She yelled picking up her car keys and stuffing them in the front pocket of her jeans. She opened the door and rolled her suitcases onto the driveway and parked them next to her vehicle. She inherited her vehicle from her father, an ex-marine due to his unexpected loss of sight and hearing. He thought it would be the perfect graduation present.

"Well you're not perfect either Phoebe." He said dramatically throwing his hands up in a childish expression.

She stuffed the divorce papers in the glovebox of the car and began stacking the suitcases on the backseats. As Phoebe began reversing out of the driveway, the branches that once hovered above her car, left leaves blowing across the windscreen.

Every little thing that was happening whether it was the sun bothering her eyes, or coming to a halt because of a red light left her furious by the second. Her mind was so focused on where she was heading and the awful chat she had with Charles.

She tapped her thumbs constantly on the steering wheel and her jaw started tightening at the thought of Charles and their conversation. Her stomach turned and twisted in annoyance and her grip tightened on the steering wheel. As her face flushed with red, her grip loosened and her emotions changed from anger to misery and grief. Water trickledown her eyes, creating a glossy reflection on her cheeks. She was not ready to start over.

She hated the fact that she lacked the ability to maintain a proper relationship with anyone. Now, with a long drive to the location of her parents, she had all the time in the world to think of a way to tell her parents.
