I remember the life
The two of us have shared
The fun we've had
Along the wayI remember the nights
When sleep never kissed our eyes
We'd have eggs the next morning
Of a very lazy dayI remember the girl
Who saw us as superheroes
And the games we played
At the parkI remember the houses
We made from bed sheets
And watching movies
Long after darkI remember The Unicorn Guide
Our vivid imagination
And the stories of magic
We would tellI remember dances
We made in your pool
And the back fence over which
That tree fellI remember our film
Worthy of an Oscar
And the Wet Walruses that still
Make us laughI remember when "Sam!
...just stole that thing!"
And the rail at camp that
Snapped in halfNow
I await the weekend
When I will hold you again
And we'll go see a show
Together at lastI await your birthday
When we celebrate your being
And be awed by all you've done
In the pastI await the day
When your struggles are gone
And finally your heart
Will be freeI await growing old
With your hand tight in mine
Our Jar of Good Times
Beside me
