6 months later...
You know, there used to be a time where I was happy. When my life was not controlled by the club and those in it. When things were simple. But, after all, things constantly change.
Happy and I had decided to push back the wedding a year or so. Both of us decided there was no rush, and we were happy to wait.
I'd lost my job at the tattoo place, it was shut down because apparently Paul was dealing drugs. Honestly didn't surprise me. The man had more money than I could ever dream of.
Everyone in the club was becoming used to the peace and quiet between charters thanks to the new deals amongst them.
Things were quiet. Basic. It was nice.
Or at least I thought it was.
Happy and I were laying in bed early one morning, enjoying the serenity of the moment when there was a loud knock at the door. I frowned as Happy jumped up cautiously and pulled a pair of jeans on.
"This is the police. Open up." I heard a yell and my frown became deeper, so did Happy's. I heard Happy open the door and say hello. "Happy lowman, you are under arrest for the murder of Scott O'Hara. Whatever you say can and will be held against you in the court of law."
I jumped out of bed and quickly dressed myself before running out to the front door where Happy stood in handcuffs.
"Happy what is going on?" I asked, terrified of what was happening.
"I don't know. Call Chibs." He said as the police took him outside.
****
After 24 hours happy was released as the police had no actual evidence it was Happy. According to his lawyer it was a hunch and the probably only arrested Happy as a scare tactic.
"You're quiet." I said sceptically.
"Thinking." Happy said with a stern voice as we sat at the bar at the club.
"About?"
"I don't think we should date anymore. The wedding is off. I'm breaking up with you." He looked down at his lap.
"What?! Why?!" I raised my voice and stood up.
"Being with you is making me clumsy." He looked up at me. "It's not worth the risk. This club comes first."
"Fuck you Lowman." I slammed down my glass and walked out. The argument wasn't worth it. The drama wasn't worth it. Not anymore.
