Stoic Feelings

"I still can't believe I won with that..."

Down in the common room, the boys of Class 1-A were relaxing after a long day of hard work and an intense Smash Ultimate tournament. All were present, except Bakugo, who had stormed off to his room in a rage for losing to Izuku (using KIRBY), Aoyama, who was (probably) in his room falling in love with his reflection, and Kirishima, who had followed Bakugo to his room in a perhaps futile attempt to calm him down and prevent the Heights Alliance building from blowing up. Most of the boys were lounging on sofas; Sero had switched the TV on and had turned to a hero news network, Sato and Ojiro were fixing up some snacks in the kitchen and Kaminari was goofing around in his usual fashion.

Izuku stifled a yawn before getting up to turn in for the night.

"Jeez, today's been exhausting," Izuku said, "I think I'm gonna head"

"See ya, smol bean" said Kaminari with a grin, a few others following in saying goodnight to the broccoli cinnabun.

"DON'T FORGET TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH BEFORE GOING TO BED MIDORIYA-KUN, DENTAL HYGIENE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT" said Iida, doing his karate arm-chops.

"Don't worry Iida, thanks for reminding me..." Izuku sweatdropped as he walked past. Before he could make his way to the lift up to his dorm, Izuku felt a finger tap his shoulder. He turned around to see none other than...Todoroki?

"Ah! Todoroki-kun! Wh-...um...err...is everything alright?" Izuku spluttered.

"Hey, I was wondering if you could give me some advice about something Midoriya." Todoroki said in his monotone voice.

"Um, sure! How can I help?" asked the One for All user.

"Well, I've been going through something recently, and then someone came along and I opened up to them, and I feel so much better now. But for some reason my pulse starts racing and I feel queasy whenever I'm around them and I keep thinking about them. What does this mean?"

"Well, you've got a crush on someone, if we were to put it simply"

"A...crush?"

"Yeah, like when you have romantic feelings for someone else, it's the first stage of being in love"

"I'm falling in love?"

"Maybe, you've just gotta start confronting your feelings and spending time with the person they are for. Just out of interest, who is it you're thinking of?"

Shouto paused for a moment before leaning in to whisper in Izuku's ear. Izuku's eyes widened with delight as he heard the name.

"Really? That's awesome! You guys would look cute!"

"Yeah, she is cut-wait what? Oh yeah, um, thanks, I guess?"

"Now that you've told me, I'm gonna ship the HELL out of Todo-"

Izuku was cut off by Shouto's hand when he sensed someone coming up to the elevator.

"I thought you were going to bed Midoriya?" said Kaminari who was on his way to grab his Bluetooth speaker from his dorm. "And why is Todoroki covering your mouth? Is there some juicy gossip being spilled? Let's hear it!"

"Ah! Kaminari! Um, yes! Uh...Todoroki was ummm...just asking about how I pulled off the thing I did in hero training today, and he didn't want me giving away my secret strategy, hehe" Izuku said quietly, almost going off on one of his rambles again.

"All right, then. Keep your secrets," Kaminari smirked, backing into the elevator, "kudos if you got that reference!" he added with a wink as the elevator doors closed and the metal box disappeared upwards.

"Hey, Midoriya. Do you think you can keep this from everyone for the time being? I don't want to have Iida, Ashido or Mineta on my back, or hers for that matter." Todoroki asked, looking shyly at the floor.

"Of course, Todoroki! I understand that entirely! I don't want to disappoint you and tell others about something that personal to you. Besides, it's not like I don't have a crush myself..." Izuku replied enthusiastically, trailing off slightly towards the end in embarrassment. "Welp, I'm off to bed. I'll see you in the morning, Todoroki!"

"Goodnight, Midoriya. Thanks for listening to what I had to say. I'm glad it's you I opened up to," Todoroki replied. "Sleep well."

As the lift ascended, Izuku thought to himself, 'I never would've thought he had a crush on her of all people, at least I know she'd be in safe hands if they got together. Wow, they actually really would be cute together, it's sorta growing on me. At least it's not you he's in love with...'
