I Have Everything to Lose

chapter 1

I woke up early in the morning to my alarm ringing in my ear next to me. I reach to shut it off and get ready for school. I head down stairs to the kitchen to my dad reading the news paper and drinking coffee. "You sleep good Skyler". My dad happily said, he's more of the morning person in our house. "Yeah dad I guess". I sighed. "What's wrong sky? You can tell me anything." He said looking up from his news paper. "Nothing dad I'm fine just tired. I have to go now see you after school".

The truth was I never was fine. Even though my family was really rich I never cared about the money. And it seemed like everyone else cared how much money my daddy had in his bank. My life went all downhill when I was about 6 years old I remember like it just happened.

"Honey wake up we have to go" My dad said with tears in his eyes. "Daddy where are we going" I said getting out of my seats from my bed. "Somewhere new you'll love it trust me "My dad said "where's mommy" I said sleepily. "Mommy's sick she needs a doctor" he said grabbing suite cases. "Is mommy going to be okay"? I asked getting this ping of fear and panic in my stomach...

I walked to school with tears in my eyes I hate thinking about the past it just hurts too much. I get to my locker where I see my best friend and well... my only friend Callie. "Hey Callie" I said hoping she couldn't notice the tears forming in my eyes. "Hey Sky... Oh Sky what's wrong you know you can't hide anything from me tell me what's wrong" Callie was right I could never hide anything from her I swear she could get anyone to spill their guts to her. "Nothing I said just thinking about things". I said wiping under my eyes to wipe the little makeup I had on off.

The bell rang for first hour and I said bye to Callie. My first hour was Algebra and it wasn't that hard I mean High School wasn't ever hard for me. I think the only reason high school is easy for me is because I don't talk much, I do my work, and I don't worry about what the other girls at my school worried about. I wasn't worried about prom, getting a hot boy to notice me, or even just being popular. I never liked meeting new people. That's why I have Callie.

"Miss Jackson are you paying attention" Mr. Roberts yelled from the bored. I jumped in my seat making people giggle and looking at me. "Yea... yes Mr. Roberts... sorry". I said sinking down in my seat. Mr. Roberts was a nice teacher he just hated when you daydream. I heard girls behind me whisper something, and then laugh I knew they were talking about me, but I didn't care I was just waiting for the day of graduation so I wouldn't have to be in this hell whole they call school.

After the morning went on I had study hour that the good thing about being a senior if you stayed on track, you got good grades. They trusted you to have a free hour were you study, but most people hung out with friends, went on their phones and planed what party they were going to get wasted at next. Callie walked in shortly after I did and sits next to me on the couch in the back of the library. "Oh my god I have probably the biggest test of my life tomorrow and literally don't have the energy to even look at the book" Callie grounded sitting her stuff down. "Yeah, but just think soon well be out of this school and well be living together as roommates and not worrying about tests" I laughed. We sat for the rest of study hour talking about how our apartment will look when we move in with each other when we graduate.

When school ended I said bye to Callie and started to walk home. This is the time of day when I did most of my thinking and I hated it everything thought somehow made its way back in to my past. I looked down at my phone and usually I get a simple text from my dad saying he's home or to come straight home, but I had nothing. I tried to not think too much of that. It was probably nothing anyway.

"SKYLER MARIE JACKSON!!! You need to listen to me right now" Daddy yelled and he never yelled at me. "But daddy why do I have to wear this blind fold I don't want to wear it... its too dark". "Skyler honey you need to listen to me just put on the blind fold and don't look". He said trying to calm down. "Where's mommy... I want to see mommy" I cried while daddy put the blind fold around my eyes. I noticed something on daddy's hands it looked like a dark red paint, but I don't think it was paint.

I finally arrive to our huge house, and notice a black car in our drive way. I feel like I've seen the car before. I walk in the house and I didn't see my dad "DAD!!! It's me sky I'm home from school.... DAD!!! Whose car is th...?" I stop in my tracks, and notice my dad office door is open and it never is open even when he's not in there it's always locked. I walk by and hear voices. "Richard you don't have to worry I'll have your money soon". My dad said. "David, you had me waiting for too long... you do remember what happened last time when I didn't get my money". Richard said. "That won't happen again and you won't hurt my family ever again". my dad said getting angry. "DON'T GET SMART WITH ME DAVID REMEMBER WHOS THE BOSS HERE....I CAN DO WH...." Richard yelled stopping when a tall boy about my age with tattoos all up and down he's arms, black fluffy long hair ,and a annoyed look on his face open the door I was by and caught me listen in. He immediately scared me and I felt the need to run.

"Skyler what have I always told you never go by my office" my dad sad with big worried eyes. "I...I'm sorry dad I saw a car outside, and hear voices, and you didn't tell me if you'd be home or not" I said looking around his office for the first time. My eyes fell on the tall boy that seemed to be my age. Who is he? Why is he in my house? I didn't dare ask any of this I was to scared of the way he looked at me up and down making me feel small as a mouse. "Sky go in your room were almost done here". My dad said looking worried at the other man in the room. "I'm Richard". Said the man, holding out he's hand. He was about my dad's age maybe older, he had less hair thought, and the way he was dressed in and all black business suite made me have this uneasy feeling about him. I took he hand and shook it "I'm Skyler" I said quietly, turning around to walk to my room. "This is my son Blaine ... Blaine say hello to this beautiful young lady" Richard said with a sly smile on his lips. "Hey..." Blaine said annoyed rolling his eyes. "Umm hi" I said leaving my dad's office and walking up to my room.

I lay on my stomach on my bed listen to my favorite song at the moment Thinking Out Loud  by Ed Sherran. When I heard my dad open my bedroom door. "I'm sorry I pushed you out of my office." My dad said looking around my bedroom. "It's okay... but who were they?" I said hoping for an answer. My dad looked down at his feet and looked at me and sighed. "I work for them... well actually only Richard". My dad explained. "Listen Sky if they ever come to the house and I'm not there call me immediately and don't ever open the door". My dad said looking very serious at me. "Okay dad I promise". And with that he left leaving me with my thoughts on the two mysterious people that were in my house earlier.

I called Callie later that night and told her about my weird encounter with Richard and Blaine. "His name is Blaine... That's hot I bet he was hot" Callie sang in to the phone. "Oh my god Callie please keep your fangirling down you don't even know who he is or what he looks like". I grounded at her. "Well I know if you like him he has to be cute". Callie said with a giggle. "Wait... I never said I liked him... if anything he was kind of scary". I said walking around in my room. "Please I know you like this guy... and who cares if he's scary the bad boys are always the ones that are the best in bed". Callie said laughing. "CALLIE!!! Oh my god don't say that... I'm going to go because this conversation is getting out of hand". I laughed. We said our goodbyes and I went to bed shortly after dreaming of a boy with tattoos all down his arms and they way his arms would feel around my waist as he held me tight.
