Seventy seven

You can be the glowing ember in the ashes
The fierce Phoenix that rises from within
The brightest of torches against the ink darkness

You can soar through countless skies
Name each one yours
And streak it with the strength of your wings

You could have bent iron to your will
Walked through hell and back
Fallen to endless depths and still emerge

But you failed.

You let their hate fuel your despair
Let their jealousy raze you inside out
Let their anger drag you through thorn-thickets

We are but dust and shadows
Into the earth we shall return
Let your sins break you
But let rebirth forge you a character
Anew.

Let them break you
For it will mend you.
