Y/n woke up at 8:34am on a regular Sunday morning. She got out of bed, got dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. When she got to the bottom of the stairs she wasn't surprised to see her father already making breakfast.

She smiled warmly, even though he couldn't see it, "Mornin' Dad!"

Without turning around her father, Remus Lupin, responded, "Mornin' sunflower, I made pancakes, could you grab some plates for me?"

Y/n hummed in response and moved over to the cupboards, grabbing two small plates she set them on the table. Then she proceeded to grab two glasses, Y/n knew her father would most likely ask her to bring those out as well.

As if on que her father spoke, "D'you mind grabbing some cups as well? I bought some orange juice this morning."

Y/n giggled, "Already done Dad."

"Thank you sunflower."

As Y/n sat down Remus put several pancakes on her plate. Y/n said a small thank you before digging into her beautiful breakfast.

The pair were both eating and drinking their juice with the occasional chatter. Until Remus cleared his throat, Y/n stopped, had she done something wrong?

"You are eleven y/n, I have told you that you are not my biological daughter but I havent really told you why."

Finally, that was all y/n could think. Y/n would finally get to learn more about what happened to her parents.

"Your parents were in hiding, a very very bad wizard was after them. Well not exactly after your parents but, your uh brother. I know I've never told you about him but well I've been looking for him and I can't find him. Dumbledore, yes my old Professor and soon to be yours, put him in hiding. Anyways he was after your brother beacause of a rubbish prophecy, so they hid. At the time you were three, and Lily, your mother asked me to take care of you. She, well she left you to me as I was your godfather and she asked me to make sure you stayed safe, and that if anything happened to her I'd raise you.

"On Halloween night, he found them all because of a traitor. Sirius Black was the only person who knew where they were and that could tell anyone where they were. He told him, he told Voldemort where your parents were hiding and, and killed them. But somehow your brother survived, I have no idea how but I do know that he is safe now. Don't worry about him, Dumbledore has guaranteed his saftey and I trust him. You understand sunflower?"

Y/n furrowed her eyebrows and she took in what her father said. It was a lot but she understood. Well at least she thought she did. Y/n was only just 11 years old after all, she had other things on her mind.

"I understand Dad," There was a sadness to her voice, Remus heard and so did y/n. They were both sad, the topic itself was depressing. So they sat quietly thinking.

Suddenly y/n broke the silence, "Do I, Do I look like my mom at all?"

Remus smiled, "Absolutely, and you have her fiery personality, but you have James eyes and his messy hair."

It was a while until they left the table, when y/n got up she went to the little area of the house that had her plants and books and sat in solitude. She loved to read and her took pride in her three plants, they were like her own little children.

The day went by rather quickly despite having a sad beginning it was a nice day, it was sunny out so her father took her out to the river and they had lunch there. It was there that an owl dropped off her Hogwarts letter.

Y/n had always liked where she lived, it was near a small village but no where near a big city. There was a river and a forest, she couldn't ask for a prettier place to live. However she couldn't wait to start her very first at Hogwarts.
