so if you are stuck for ideas on where to take your story next here is a list of things to do that could possibly help:
1. embarrass your protagonist - make them weak or vulnerable in some way and see where the story takes you next
2. shoot someone - that always takes your reader by surprise
3. in relation kidnap someone - or rather make it seem to your protagonist like someone has been kidnapped
4. have one of your side characters disappear or become unavailable for some reason - this will make your reader frustrated and possibly thinks that character is being a little bitch
5. have someone kiss the wrong person especially if you have been trying to set up a romance angle - this will create some chaos or stir things up a little
6. if your story involves parents have them argue - push the point of divorce even though you know that will never happen it will make the tension rise.
