Kira who?

Chapter 003

"So, your ma is finally getting rid of you, huh?"
   A girl with brown twine hair and bright shy blue eyes, girl said, while swinging her legs back and forth on a tall tree pine tree limb. Her voice was naturally a bit high pitched making people believe her to be younger than her actually age.

"No, she just wants me to 'connect' with my father. I really just want to stay here and annoy you though."

  Calvin said looking up at the girl. After Calvin packed his bags, he noticed the sun had already risen. Seeing no point in staying and wasting away any more time in his room he left. The first friend he met up with naturally was Emily. She was timid around strangers and adults, but when she's around her friends she can be very moody and an air headed. Looking like she invented being 'lost'.

"You know what this means, right."

   Emily said with a toothy grin. Calvin having spaced out was totally unaware of anything she said prior to this sentence. Give Emily a confident look he responded with a bit to firm "Yeah." Emily gave him a glare as she realized he wasn't listening but she soon calmed down.

"We got to get one get together with everyone before you go. Let's make it a forest one with kegs and a big bond fire! Get one last hooray in before you go. I heard Japan was a lot stricter than us when it comes to this sort of things."

   After Emily finished what she said in one breath she looked at Calvin with expecting eyes. Under her enthusiasm all Calvin could do was nod his head. Thinking it's a bit irresponsible since they were only sophomores, or at least she was.

   Calvin had already experienced living till 19 once and was experiencing it again but this time in another time. When he was twelve, he ran from home to try and find his parents. To find even a little bit of comfort in this situation but his results turn for the worst when he couldn't even find his old town let alone his parents. He became so depressed that he refused to go back and face his new mother who cared for him so much.

   Guilt ridden and heartbroken, he decided to travel for a bit. With no money and dirty clothes Calvin travel depending on the kindness of strangers for his food and the rain for his water. Sometimes it wouldn't rain for a while and as strangers if he can drink from the water hoses out back. Most agreed, looking at his disheveled appearance was enough to make even the toughest of men feel pity. By the time he turned 14 he had traveled cross five different states and had decided that it was about time to come home. He had finally found peace and came to terms with his situation.

   When he returned his mother cried desperately while holding him. For the longest time she thought he had died. This didn't last long though as she gave him an ear full and scolded him for so long that his head begin to hurt. For the next couple of months after that she watched him like a hawk and refused to let him sleep by himself.

     With a such a huge concern that weight his heart since rebirth being gone, he performed exceedingly well academically. Quickly making up for his two-year absents. His grades continued to shoot through the roof making and because of that he was given an award from the board of education basically classifying him as a genius. After skipping the two grades he missed in those two years he decided to stay in the grade he was meant to be in and not skip any more years despite the teacher's encouragement.

It's been two years since he got back and he made many friends, Emily being one of them.

"How long do you think you're going to be gone?"

  Emily asked with a curious look on her face. She and him have been sitting in silence for the longest of time. Letting everything soak in. The peaceful air that surrounded them didn't change even when Emily had asked a question.

"I don't know."
   He replied with his legs crossed and his back to the trunk of the tree. He had moved sit against the tree a while ago.

"I know your smart and everything but can you even speak Japanese?" She asked.

   Calvin thought for a moment before quickly nodding. The he realized that she probably wasn't looking at him and responded with another 'yeah'.
