The day began like they do so often around here. Luigi told me we had mail, it was a letter from the Princess with a formal invitation to the Star Festival, with promise of an unspecified present (It's Cake it's ALWAYS Cake). After the failed vacation to Isle Delfino, Princess Toadstool and I both agreed we should keep our relationship to mostly business, good friends at most. Nevertheless, Luigi was exited to have received an invitation as well. I made sure to bring extra mushrooms and told Luigi he should as well, since a certain arch enemy of ours gets great enjoyment from causing mayhem at the Princess's castle. Hopefully the newly formed Toadstool Brigade is able to do their jobs...

Later that night as I made my way towards the Toad Town square, several exited Toads were overjoyed just by my presence. They would wave to me and I would wave back. They always loved to see me run and jump, so I did what I do best all the way up the pathway. The crowd went wild. I ran and jumped like I was a graceful acrobat, flying high above the laws of gravity. I stopped to catch my breath as I reached the square, and just stopped to observe the peaceful area. Toad's sat on their porches of their Toad houses, with their Toad children. Toad guards watched the grounds and the skies, with a friendly smile on their faces. I didn't see Luigi, so I assumed he had headed to the castle. Everyone looked up towards the sky, for the traditional Star Festival fireworks were about to begin. But they didn't. Instead came the all too familiar sound of airships roaring through the night sky. A dozen or so Airships suddenly filled the sky, with one obviously larger and more regal, and atop the deck stood who else, but the King Koopa himself.

"Bowser!" cried towns folk as the airships began to aim their weaponry at the ground. The canons of the ships fired a form of diamond shaped bullet, which caused the Toads unlucky enough to be hit by the blast to become encased in a large crystal. I dashed off towards the castle to stop this chaos before it inevitably became out of hand. As I approached the castle I saw Princess Toadstool standing with the Captain Toad on the balcony, and in her hands held the Princess as well as something that resembled a star...? It wasn't a Power Star or a Starman, it was cream colored, almost white, and fatter, almost like it was alive. As I approached the castle, so did the lead airship, as a couple others surrounded it.

Bowser then growled, "Princess Peach, you are formally invited to the creation of my new galaxy!" before raising his hands to the sky. At first he glowed an almost heavenly golden, before raising his hands up sending lightning across the sky.

The Princess then looking down cried out "Mario!" I remembered where I was and raced off, reaching the bridge of the castle, before seeing that the lightening was calling something. A flying saucer came out from behind the clouds and hovered directly over the castle. It shot several lasers from the bottom of it, creating a circle around the length of the castle, separating it from the earth, before several airships lowered their anchors to the castle grounds, now severed from the ground below, before hoisting it up into the air. The bridge around me crumbled, and I managed to grab a hold of one of the still remaining pieces. I felt major wind resistance as I tried to pull myself up, before realizing I was now several hundred kilometers in the air, much higher than any skyscraper. I eventually pulled myself up, as I saw Kamek fly by the quickly ascending castle. I felt extremely cold and out of breath for a second, before seeing some sort of magic that Kamek spread around the castle, which created a force-field of sorts. I then looked around and realized Bowser wasn't lying when he said galaxy. We had entered Space. It felt like the climb was infinitely faster than it was, but now that we were up here it was terrifying. I could slowly feel the loss of my grip on gravity, but the castle was still being pulled away from the earth. I managed to barely stand up in this new form of movement, before Kamek flew in directly in front of me. I quickly realized what was about to happen, but before I could even make a move, I felt a change in direction which quickly sent me off balance.

"So long! Enjoy your flight!" yelled Kamek, before raising his magical wand. He laughed manically before causing a large fireball to crash into the bridge, sending it as well as I outside of the field and into the cold depths of space. My body instantly began to grow cold, I saw Kamek cackling, and the Princess mouthing something. I drifted away from the castle. It flew away and before I knew it, it was gone. Maybe it was as fast as I thought, because there was no sign of earth either. Only the cold empty void of space. I had no feeling in my body, and my lungs were at the point of bursting. I couldn't even close my eyes, as my eyelids now ceased to function. My eyes burned, and the stars burned back. I slowly twisted and turned in the endless void not of my own will. I felt my conscience drift off as I thought about Luigi, Captain Toad, Yoshi and everyone else on Earth, and above all, Peach. As I thought my last thoughts in the cold empty space, I saw a white light heading my way, a star, but different than the others in the night sky, before it all faded to black.
