Not A Monster...// A Jadam Story

James's POV

It's quiet in the house. Too quiet. Jaiden is asleep, Dave's not home, and Adam... I have no idea what he's doing. I might as well check on him...

I knock on his room door. "In... A minute..." I hear him say. "Adam," I say, " It's me, James... Are you ok?" I hear things being moved around, and Adam says, "Yeah, I'm fine, James... Just fine." The room door creaks open, but it's only just a little.

Adam peeks through the doorway, glasses on. "Oh! H-hey, James... What are you still doing up?" He asks. I laugh a little, and say, "Binge watching Animé... Again." He chuckles, then coughs. "Are you ok, Adam?"

He looks up at me (since I'm taller), and says, "Oh, yeah... Heh heh, I'm fine, just feeling a little sick, that's all..." I look down at him, and narrow my eyes.

Then I put a hand to his forehead. It's hot. "You have a fever, Adam. Are you sure you're feeling ok?" He nods with a small smile on his face.

"Ok... Welp, it's late, so yeah, get some sleep... Kay?" Adam starts to chew on his Common Sense hoodie, something he only does when something's wrong.

"Y-yeah, I'll just get back to... Bed. Night, James." He says, then closes his door. "Well, that was weird, right James?" Says Jaiden.

"Hey, Jaiden. Adam's not feeling well, so yeah, I'm worried about him." Jaiden pats me on my shoulder, and says, "C'mon, James. Let's talk about this where Adam can't hear us..." I nod, and follow her to the living room.

Jaiden's POV

I sit down on the couch, waiting for James. Finally, he stops dawdling in the hallway by Adam's door. "What do we do about him, Jaiden? His weird behavior is starting to scare me..." James said. I had to admit, Adam's weird behavior is starting to scare me, too.

We hear shuffling. It's close by. "Dave??? Is that you???" I say. "Yeah, Jaiden, that's me. Just woke up due to my stupid alarm clock." He says, then he looks at James and me. "Adam's behavior is scaring me... A lot. He hardly ever eats, and he's always tired. Doesn't that seem... Odd to you?" James asks Dave, who begins to laugh.

"What's so funny, Dave?" I say. "He said 'Odd', and he's the... Odd1sOut???" Suddenly, we hear a BA-DUM TSSH!! James's face goes emotionless, and he says, "This is no time to make jokes!!! Adam is not feeling well!!!"

Just then, we hear something. "Oh jeez! *falls over* Crap!" It's Rebecca. "Becca, what the hell?!?" Dave says. She gives us a shy smile, and says, "Sorry guys, but yeah, Adam's behavior is scaring me as well." She's right. Adam is scaring us all. "Hey! Wait a minute, I thought you weren't home, Dave. How come you're home now???" Rebecca, James, and I look suspiciously at Dave, who is sweating.

"Will you believe me if I say magic?" He asks. James immediately nods, and Rebecca shrugs. "Jaiden?" I simply stare in disbelief, and shake my head no.
