chapter 3
After screaming my heart out all night in excitement I finally fell asleep. The next morning I dragged myself out of bed and got dressed. My curly hair was a mess and I had a Horrible headache from screaming to nuch. after 15 minutes of doing my hair and finding the perfect clothes to wear I settled on a green tee shirt and black skinny jeans. I looked at my clock and it read 7:15 am. I hurried up and grabbed by backpack and schedule, threw my shoes on, and closed my door. I ran down the hall unsure where to go. I ran until I ram sacked into a hard chest. I was about to fall on my butt until the same person grabbed me. I looked up and saw that it was Alex.
"That's one way to say goodmorning." He said jokingly.
"I'm so sorry.I have no idea were I am going and I'm trying not to be late on my first day of school. By any chance do you know where Ms. Wade's classroom is?"
"As a matter of fact I do. I am in her class this period. Do you want to walk with me to her class?" He said nervously for some reason. I was about to ask him why he was nervous but decided not to.
Sure and thank you. I don't think anyone else would have helped me." I said gesturing all the snobs in the hallways.
He laughed an angelic laugh and put his arm around my shoulders to steer me in the right direction. When he touched me I felt a shock of current run up my arms. I had never felt anything like that before and it felt good but frightened me. I was pretty sure that he felt it to because his muscvles tensed and then a moment later they relaxed.
I was starting to feel akward so I tried to start a conversation.
"How long have you been going here?" I said
"I have been going here for 2 years." he said flatly
Wow! What's it like here?" I asked not wanting to know the answer.
"Like any other school. Jocks, cheerleaders, teachers that don't give a fuck and so on." He said not really liking that fact.
"That does sound like my old school. what a drag." I shuddered at the thought.
"Tell me about it." We continued talking and laughing like we've known each other since birth until we approached a door that said Ms. Wade in black bold letters. I hesitated to go inside so Alex pulled me in by my hand. His hand was so soft that I could have mistaken it for velvet. that little gesture sent little shocks through my body that seemed to calm me.
I noticed that everyone was looking at me wiered. That's when I noticed that I was still holding Alex's hand. We both dropped our hands and when I looked up I noticed that Alex was blushing the faintest shade of pink. He sat down at his sit and that's when I noticed that James was staring straight and me and glaring at Alex.
I searched for an empty seat and found that there was one next to James in the back but there was also one next to Alex up front. James motioned for me to sit next to him but so did Alex. I made a quick desition and sat up front with Alex and waited for class to begin.
When Ms. Wade started teaching I wanted to gouge out my eyes and ears. she spoke with no emotion and I thought that it couldn't get any worse until she started a video about World war ll. Finally she gave us five minutes to talk freely until the bell rang.
"What do you have next period?" A voice came from right next to me. when I turned around I came face to face with Alex.
I handed him my schedule and he gently took it out of my hand. All I could see him doingwas writing something on it. He gave my schedule back to me and on it was little A's next to most of my classes.
"why are there A's next to most of my classes?"
"The classes that have A's on them are the classes that you have with me. You also have my lunch block." He said happily.
"Oh, but why are there A's on it but not star's or check's?"
"Because A stands for Alex." He said in amusement.
"Oh... I knew that." I said embarressed.
"Do you think that you could show me where those classes are. Just for today if that's ok with you."
there wasn't enough time for him to say anything so he just nodded. The bell rang right after that. Alex and I walked side by side out the door. The next three classes were just as boring. Finally the lunch bell rang and I was excited. I had to walk to the lunchroom by myself because that was one of the classes that I did't have with Alex. As I made my way into the lunchroom I felt kind of nervous because it was huge and filled with people. I worked my way up the lunch line and bought a cookie and some chocolate milk.
