Concealed in the depths of the Mariana Trench. There lived a mermaid named Kadita , cold, wicked, and lonely. She had no one by her side because her mom and dad left her when she was a baby. Years ago, before Kadita turned 7 years old. Her mom and dad passed away due to a tragedic incident. Their hometown in the Adella Village got destroyed. Some mischievous fishermen decided to destroy the marine to catch more fishes. Meanwhile, she never knew that she had a sister. The only person alive in their family. She was nowhere to be found. Whenever midnight arrives, Kadita emerges from the ocean's waters. In the few moments, her fish like body transforms into that of human being. She likes visiting an island called the Siren Island which is said to be the most dangerous for humans because numerous people died there which is the reason why people decided to close and remove this place from the map. Kadita knew about this and decided to stay there during dawn because it is one of the safest and closest land to visit for her as a mermaid. The only thing she enjoys is to walk on the land with her pair of feet. Two hours before dawn, a very outgoing girl named Melissa challenged herself to visit the Siren Island and discover mysteries unfound. As the curious woman she is, Melissa explored the island not knowing what she could go through. When she got to Siren Island, her necklace shaped like a shell given by her mom when she was a child unexpectedly lit up and she doesn't know the reason why. She saw a strong yellow light, shone behind the rock. Same as the light coming from her necklace that lit up. There she met Kadita.. Both Melissa and Kadita shouted immediately in shock. "IT' S THE SAME NECKLACE." Kadita questioned Melissa first what was she doing in Siren Island. Melissa said that Siren Island is no longer visible in all maps. She had to pack her stuffs for a long trip just to answer all her curiosities regarding Siren Island. She also mentioned that ever since she was a kid she researched and dreamt of visiting this island. As Melissa grew up, she kept researching how to get to that island because there were lots of scary rumors that happened to people. But, it did not frighten her at all. Instead, it kept her more excitedly eager to visit that place. Kadita has been staring at Melissa's necklace whilst still grasping at her own necklace.
They were wondering why it's still glowing since they've met. But, they did not know that the necklace glows only when they are near each other. From a cold hearted mermaid Kadita is, she was a fond of Melissa's personality. Surprsingly cool until, Melissa talked about her past. " I know it's absurd, but you humans wont believe that I was born under water. I came to this island to discover my birthplace. " she said. Kadita didn't want to believe at first until she Melissa said " My mom and dad passed away somewhere near here because of an incident that was caused by the fishermen. To be honest, I never heard the full story. I just heard that I lost my powers because I was saved by a merman that was sent by mom and dad before the incident." Kadita said " wait, I was there too but, I can't remember since i was a kid back then. All i know is that I had a sister who ran away from home because she wanted to learn to live like a human. I dont know where she is on the day that the incident happened. But, I am affirmative that she passed away since she never came back for me anymore." "What a cliche! I have a younger sister too. I lost her when i was 9 years old. Will you believe me if I said that i was once a mermaid and I lost my powers because I was saved and lived my life on the land?" Melissa asked. Kadita was left speechless. Inside her head there is something that she can't explain. Suddenly, both of their necklace started glowing again. They both had the urge to flip it open, in symphony. No one knew that the necklace can be opened. As they flipped it up, their eyes went wide open the moment they saw the picture of their mom and dad. The sand of the island started glowing. A letter coming from an unexpected gigantic gold crab was glowing as well. The entire island was not spooky anymore. It became magical as anyone could've dreamed. Crab said the letter that the two girls are about to read will answer their curiosities. It was a letter written to them when their parents had the opportunity to write their final message. The words were in bold and gold letters. " To my daughters, Kadita and Melissa. I am sorry for not being able to see you grow and I hope you do not despise me and dad for leaving you alone. We had no choice. My Melissa, I stopped you from going to the land because we are a family and you dont belong there. You belong with us down here, under the sea. I wasn't able to trace where you were so I tried to seek help from every creature to help me find where you were and to keep you anywhere safe. Also, To Kadita, please never forget where you belong because we should continue to love and cherish the memories we had here in Adella Village, our beloved hometown. This is where we grew up and we should continue to protect Siren Island. Many magical things often happen here and those humans don't know. We just wanted to say that we love you so much. - Mom & Dad" Melissa started sobbing like a child. It was all my fault she said. If only I didn't attempt to visit the island or escaped this place, I could've protected mom & dad from dying. Seeing their long lost sister meant a lot for a broken family. Because of Melissa's realization, she started to feel remorse. Little by little, her selfish behavior diminished. Having known that she was the reason for her parents' passing, she learned her lesson and decided that she would no longer have that demeanor. Kadita, despite the tragedy of the parents, still feels gratitude that her very own sister is still alive and well. Her sorrow has perished, and warmth has filled the void that was looming in her heart for decades.
