There is nobody who does not know about Adam and Eve. The legendary pair. But if they were indeed the first humans on Earth, how do you think they met, ie. what would their reaction be when they first encountered each other?
Arjun argues that they might just not realise that they were the same species, and might continue to ignore each other, just like they would ignore other creatures. They might even try to eat each other, given that the supposed aim of life, according to Arjun, is survival, ie. to eat and reproduce (to be discussed at great length in another chapter).
I had a more practical point of view. One could assume that food was abundant in those times, and easily availaible. Thus, it is reasonable to say that Adam might have grown fat on a highly nutritious diet. The consequence of this would be Adam having a huge paunch and (relatively) large breasts. In that case, Adam and Eve might not really look different when they encounter each other, thus resulting in them teaming up against the other predators.
