Balloons in the sky

This is a real incident observed by a friend. There was a boy who bought a balloon at a fest. He then bought food. As soon as he started eating it, he forgot about the balloon and it slipped from his hand, getting stuck in a tree. This happened 5 times in a span of 3 days at the same spot. So what do we learn from this?

My conclusion was that once he got food, he forgot the rest of the world. This is characteristic only of food, as it is generally the opposite. We always crave for what we dont have. As soon as we get it, we forget about it and move on to craving something else that we don't have. But that will never happen with food because, well, to give it to you straight, its food.

This is something noticed everywhere. Whenever a laser is displayed near a cat, it wont rest till it catches it. It is distraught if it can see it but does not have it. But if it is switched off, it is not bothered anymore. Its the same everywhere.

The only exception being food.

Because, well, its food.

Do you think there is some other exception? Food for thought.
