Before this chapter begins, I'd like to shout out Craral for being the first to guess my real name! My name is indeed Charlotte, but most people just call me Chaz :3

Lily's PoV

We all arrive at the ball and immediately we all split off. I sigh since we're some of the first few here and sit down at a table. I play on my phone for a bit until I here

"Lily!"

I look up to see Billy in a brown suit with a black bowtie and Nugget wearing a white shirt with a red waistcoat and matching red pants. I put my phone down as they both sat down, Nugget by my right and Billy by my left.

We all spoke for a bit before Monty sat down next to Billy. They spoke for a bit before they both stood up and went to the dance floor. Carla sat next to me a few minutes after with 2 diet cokes. I take one off her and sip it as we talk.

"I wonder if Jerome will like my outfit.."

"Of course he will Cece, don't worry about it."

After an hour, everyone was on the dance floor. Well, everyone except for me. I sat there with my diet coke. I heard a slow song begin to play and I get a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see..

"Ozzy?" I say, surprised. He smiles awkwardly and holds out his hand for me to take.

"W-Would you like to dance?" He asks. I look around to see if anyone else wanted to dance but saw no one. I sighed and took his hand, standing up.

"Yes. Yes I would." I say. He takes me to the dance floor and he puts his arma around my waist. I put my arms ariund his neck and we begin to dance. My eyes trail towards the entrance, where I see a familiar blonde leaving in a hurry. My eyes widen and I look at Ozzy.

"Ozzy, Im so sorry but I need to go to the toilet. I'll talk to you later?" I say quickly. He nods and I run after Nugget.

Nugget's PoV

I stood by the edge of the beach watching the waves follow each other. Tears slowly but surely rolled down my face. I wasn't quick enough. I should have been there first. I should have been before him. I should have gotten that dance with her. But instead Im here.

I was all alone.

"NUGGET!!" Is all I hear. I turn around to see the raven haired female running in heels without a care, her curls bouncing up and down as she runs and her skirt flowing in the wind.

I turn back towards the sea, "Go back to Ozzy."

She stops in her tracks, "Nugget, I can explai-"

I turn around to face her, "There's nothing too explain! Lily, do you not relaize how upset I am?! I've loved you for years! I thought it was just puppy love at first but after a few years I realised I was in love! I love everything about you! All I wanted was one dance but i see you dancing with Ozzy of all people, the guy who cheated on his boyfriend for a girl he dated in kindergarten! He wouldn't treat you right! How could you have not seen that your brother's best friend was in love with you all this time?! Did that kiss back in kindergarten mean nothing?! Do you not realise how heartbreaking it is to see the person you love with another pers-?!"

"YES I DO! EVERYTIME I SEE YOU WITH ANOTHER GIRL I FEEL MY HEART BREAK! THAT KISS BACK IN KINDERGARTEN WAS WHAT MADE ME REALIZE I LIKE YOU! IM SO MADLY IN LOVE WITH YOU AND I WAS SAVING MY FIRST DANCE FOR YOU BUT WHEN I DIDN'T SEE YOU THERE AND YOU HADN'T EVEN TRIED TO ASK ME OUT TO THE BALL I-" I cut her off by pulling her in for a kiss. It was desperate and emotional. I've waited so long for this moment and I finally got it. She's in love with me.

also the name I gave Nugget is completely random except for the name beginning with 'A' because in my genderbent au book Nugget's name is Alyssia so I wanted it to begin with A

also i decided not to do a cover of the song because i really wanted to get this chapter out but i will have a cover of this song on my shitposts or oneshots because i actually took the time to learn the chords for this song.

P.S. I do have a new Nily fanfic out now called The Forest if anyone is interested and I will also be making a Monty x Carla (Marla?) Hanahaki Disease au AND a soulmate au fanfic in the future because I love writing soulmate au oneshots for them but I feel they're really rushed in oneshots so ill be making a full story on them two. Im also still working on a zombie apocalypse au for them which will either be based around Nily or Felix x Adam (Fedam?) or maybe both who knows?
