'Middle'

Lily's PoV

We had just arrived in hawaii and i awoke from my nap to Nugget tapping me on the shoulder. I gave him a warm smile and got my things together, getting off the plane.

-Time skip to them getting to the hotel-

I was sharing a room with Carla and we were all putting our stuff away. Carla put on a pair of shorts and a tank top with a coat that Jerome let her borrow on the plane and I looked at her in confusion.

"I thought you had a crush on Monty?" i question. Carla suddenly stops tying her laces and blushes.

"I was cold on the plane and i was sat next to Jerome. Jerome noticed and offered me his jacket! We were just being friendly! Nothing else." Carla explains. i simply smirk at her and just nod while i put on a pair of black leggings, a plain shirt and a zip up hoodie.

"So are you ready?" I ask, putting my hair up into a ponytail.

"Yep!"

We all start walking to the common area where Penny was, talking to Ted. We walk over to her and make our way to the beach.

The cool light breeze rustles the trees ever so slightly as the 4 of us walk along the seafront. The sun was just setting and Penny already had her polaroid out taking a picture of the scene. Penny took a few pictures of all of us doing our own thing until we decided to head back for dinner. Penny walked to her room to put her camera away while the rest of us walked to the dining area which was shown to us when we arrived.

I sat down at a table for four with Penny and Carla. Cindy was with Jerome and Buggs. I noticed Jerome staring at the back if Carla's head and i smirked a little at the sight. 'He's so obviously in love' I thought to myself.

We finished our meal and i decided to skip desert as i was full from the dinner. I made my way back to my room and sat on my bed. I took out my notebook and began to write a short poem to practise with my vocabulary memory and handwriting. Soon Carla arrived with the other 2 girls. I put my notebook away as Penny sat on my bed. Everyone was sat down, except for Cindy.

"So girls, we all have crushes here and i have a plan to get every one of us with them!" Cindy said.

"Now, on Sunday we have a ball in the ballroom downstairs. I came prepared with loads of money! So on Friday when we go to the shopping centre, we're going on an hour shopping spree for dresses, shoes and accessories. We need to look our best. Of course, the ball suggests us to all go with a date, but it is optional. So, we wait until Saturday for us to all be asked to go. If we arent asked by Saturday, you ask yourself! Simple as that!" Cindy explains.

"Im in!" I exclaim. Im always excited to get glammed up by Cindy. We used to be on bad terms but shes better than she used to be and has actually done my makeup for a few school dances. Everyone else agrees and we talk until i get a phone call from Billy. I answer the call and out the phone to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey Lily, I have some great news!"

"What is it? Can the girls hear?"

"Sure!"

I put Billy on speaker.

"You're on speaker now Billy"

"Oki! So I have some great news!"

"Which is?"

"Monty asked me to the ball and I said yes!"

As i looked up to see Carla's reaction, she was gone.

"Um, can i talk to you later?"

"Sure, is everything okay?"

"Yeah, bye Billy"

"Bye sis"

I end the call as Penny speaks up.

"Its best if we leave her. She's upset and its best if we let her calm down. If we go after her she'll get more upset. If she isnt back in half an hour we'll call her"

we all nod in response and do our own thing.

Carla's PoV

I ran. I ran through the halls as fast as i could. That was until i bumped into someone. I fall to the ground as the person i ran into stumbles back. I look up to see Jerome. He holds out his hand for me to grab. I ignore it and stand up. I run past him and outside. I ran as far as i could until i reached the beach.

That was when i broke down into tears. I didnt think i would get so upset over a boy. I didnt think it was possible honestly. But the fact that i let Monty tear down my walls was bad enough. Now I found out he still has feelings for his ex and theres nothing i can do about it.

I carried on sobbing until i felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Jerome. I hugged him and cried into his shirt. He wrapped his arms around me and asked, "What happened?"

"I-I ha-had a cr-cru-ush on M-Mon-Monty b-ut *sniff* he-he li-li-ikes Bil-Billy and *sniff* asked h-him to-to the b-ball.." I manage to get out inbetween sobs. I fell him hug me tighter and growl under his breath.

"That little shit.." He mumbles as he strokes my hair. After a few minutes I've calmed down and i pull away from the embrace.

"That never happened, got it?" I threaten. He simply nods and chuckles at my actions, probably because im shorter than him but i dont care. I give him a small smile back and as we're walking back to the hotel, I notice a slight sparkle in his eyes. I smile and feel my face gstting warmer. I immediately look down.

'No.. I can't like Jerome..'

My mind traced back to Monty and my feelings towards him, to which is suprisingly nothing.

I look over at Jerome and feel my heart racing. I look straight ahead, wide-eyed.

'No I can't like the cry baby from Kindergarten.. not Jerome..'

And i oop- sorry i love adding drama to stuff.

Anyways this will probably get ignored but i have recently seen a few people adding this story to their reading lists and i just wanted to thank you all for the support in getting on this story, it means a lot to me.

Whichever ship i do ill possibly do adifferent version of the soulmate au for the other ship like the tattoo one.

so whoever reads this please comment which ship you want with whichever version of the soulmate au because im really interested in doing one of those (and possibly the hanahaki au for Nugget x Lily oooooo angst)
