These are the backgrounds of each poem, like why I wrote it, where the idea came from, etc.
THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL:
This is actually a very famous story. If you couldn't tell what it's about I'll tell you. Basically its about a very poor girl who finds a box of matches on Christmas day. She is very cold so she find an ally and snuggles up a lights each match. In the story, as each match is lit she has little day dream. Well in the last one (when she's in bed) she dies, and it shows her going to heaven and being happy. I saw it on TV and thought it would make a good poem.
THE END OF THE TERROR:
I wrote this after going through a rough time in life. Basically it's about being bullied and cutting and such. Well in the end you are kind of to figure out what happens. "but at least now, no one can mock her" There two ways to take this.
HER FEELINGS:
Basically it's about being love with someone who doesn't feel the same.
YOU ARE YOU:
This is actually a slam poem I wrote in 9th grade for extra credit.
WINGS:
This is about waiting to be an adult and spreading your wings to fly away from everything that make you sad.
